Does it still make sense to play Asylum or is it better to ignore it and go for City right away?

I would say it’s worth it to play both. City didn’t make Asylum obsolete or anything like that, they nailed the vast majority of mechanics on the first try. City mostly expands everything in terms of content instead - more villains, open world, more gadgets, Catwoman stuff, etc.

I’d agree with those who say the first Batman game is a little better. It hangs together better.

Also, Carrier Command has a demo which probably does show the AI in its current state.

I’m going to grab Torchlight 2, so if anyone wants an extra person for a bundle let me know sometime fairly soon.

As for Carrier Command, I noticed someone put together their own AI mod for the Walrus AI which seemed a vast improvement, but the latest official patch broke it, although they are trying to fix it still from what I can see of the forums. I’d say wait for a while longer.

Play Asylum. It’s a tighter and arguably better game. And if you like it you’ll want to play both.

If you only have time for one, go with City, I guess. I enjoyed both, and actually liked certain aspects of the combat more in Asylum (being able to pick dudes up to throw them).

Any deals out there for either of the console systems? I think my X360 #3 is about to bite it - increasing amount of unreadable discs (which were fine previously) and freezing. :/

I’m a bit partial to 360 just due to my XBLA investment, but if there was a fantastic deal on a PS3 that’d be fine too.

Both had decent bundles at $199 for the weekend that included hard drives and 2-4 good games, but it looks like that price was a Friday/Saturday only thing as I don’t see anyone still offering them at that price.

Yeah, I thought I was safe until Christmas pretty much! These sales are so damaging that I’m toying with literally just going with a “No more buying until you’re done with your backlog” rule. In which case you should see my next post sometime in the mid-2020’s.
