Maybe, but you can pretty much count on getting them for $40 or less within a couple of months of release.
I also think it would be hard to pay full price at GMG. Wait a week and there will be some kind of discount code.
Groupees’ Be Mine 6 bundle (www.groupees.com) has added Enclave Gold (drm-free download) and Men of War: Condemned Heroes (steam key) for $5+ purchasers. Enclave is a fantasy hack-n-slash from Starbreeze which has excellent aesthetics (though it’s Xbox era and no doubt shows its age at this point) and moderately questionable gameplay. Condemned Heroes is either the latest or close to the latest in the excellent super-detailed RTS series and probably worth the price of the bundle alone.
Edit: Huh, actually from the layout it looks like they’re added for anyone who buys the bundle at all, meaning a minimum of $1. That’s a steal.
The only 2 preorders I’ve bought from GMG this year that were more than $40 were Dishonored and Bioshock Inf.
Every other pre-order has been Sub $40. Its just crazy!

I bought FTL on the developer’s site yesterday and got both a DRM-free version and a Steam key.
GREAT game, too. Why is this not on the iPad?
They’re working on one, IIRC.
Speaking of, Amazon has finally added a page for “Late-Breaking Deals” on game downloads, which appears to just be a permanent repository for all the games they are currently price matching. Long overdue, since it was hard to find those deals unless you already knew about them.
Right now that includes Hotline Miami for $5.00, Sine Mora for $3.39, Hell Yeah for $3.74, Magicka Collection for $5.00, Space Marine for $7.50 and Alan Wake for $7.50. All unlock on Steam, and all include the $5 dollar vouchers for January.
The deal of the week is now Hitman: Absolution for $29.99. Also unlocks on Steam.
On the retail side, Amazon has Halo 4 for $39.99 now. Still includes the $10 of credit for their video download/streaming store as well.
Speaking of Amazon, looks like they have Mass Effect 3 (X360) for $15. Currently trying to see if other console games are similarly discounted…
I also saw Dead Space 2 for $15, but I’m not sure how long it’s been there.
BestBuy’s sale for 3DS consoles has begun. Unexpectedly, they also have the 3DS XL bundle with Mario Kart 7 on sale for $159.99, which is the same sale price they’re selling the non-bundle versions of the 3DS XL. Pretty good deal.

So if you buy these Steam games on Amazon, does Amazon just give you the code so you could give them to someone else? I’ve not tried the Amazon/Steam combo yet.
Yep you get a code in your ‘Digital Library’ that you click to ‘uncover’. Pretty simple.
Motherfucker! I paid $199 at Best Buy (minus $20 gift card) last week. I wonder if it’s even worth trying to return it or if the gift card prevents it.
Best Buy used to have some kind of price protection plan, where if the price dropped within a certain time after you bought it you could get a refund. It’s probably worth checking if that’s still around.
I think you have 30 days from the purchase date to get the difference refunded.
Thanks, guys. I’ll check out the buyer protection plan.
Edit: And $40 saved. Thank you bargain thread.

Think there’s a chance either of those games will go lower during the Steam Christmas sale?
Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War GOTY has now been added to the Humble THQ bundle.
