To clarify, the AAA SquareEnix game of the year that is constantly on sale for well below what they should be asking for it, and will be $5 or less by this time next year. Though I haven’t played it yet to confirm its goodness.

Speaking of Square-Enix, The Last Remnant is $3.75 today at Gamersgate. It’s a Steam games. It’s a pretty crazy take on the JRPG that’s worth checking out at that price. Very unique battle system.

Xbox Live sale is live. Lots of great stuff on sale.

I’m going to pick up Jet Set Radio for $5. If I didn’t already own it, I’d definitely get Bully for $10. There’s 14 days of sale, some games like Jet Set Radio are on sale the entire 14 days, and other games are only part of daily sales. I think Mark of the Ninja will be on sale on Thursday. It was $10 when it was released, so I’m thinking it’s going to be $5 or $7.50.

Also, Rock Band 3, which I just bought last month at $20, is not at $10. Great way to own a great game, you don’t have to search for the disc, and can play it any time. Their sale for all DLC tracks available before Rock Band 3’s release is still on, so I’ll probably buy a few more tracks too.

Damn it, I’m going to need more Microsoft Points. Any MS points sales anywhere?

I have HoI 3 on Impulse. The Paradox games all have their own autopatchers. Just launch and click the “update” button. I’ve never used any mods though, so no information there.

Almost everyone is reviewing it in comparison to Blood Money and finding it wanting. On its own merits, it’s pretty good. Occasionally even great.

Yeah my summary of most negative reviews is this:

“It’s not Blood Money. It’s gorgeous, but it’s missing some character animations and has too much bloom. It’s not as good as Blood Money, which was amazing. The stealth stuff is instead trying to be like SC: Conviction without being as good as Conviction. I really liked Blood Money and this isn’t Blood Money. 62%”

I’m all for that text part, but the scores don’t seem to jive. Take them with a grain of salt for any review which seems to spend more time talking about Blood Money than Absolution.

I am liking it, just don’t think back to the old hitman games and expect that level of open world play, and you will be fine.

Contracts mode is fun also.

Somehow this downloadable bundle has gone out of stock…they should have hit ctrl-C a few more times.
