Two questions:

SOTS2 - system requirements are win7 and i5 processor. Will it run on older windows versions and substantially slower machines?

Pride of Nations is $5 at Gamersgate. The thread here seems to indicate general disapproval. Is it worth it at $5 and how does it compare to Victoria 2 in terms of oppressive micromanagement and general difficulty to learn and quality of gaming experience (taking into account Vicki is $20 right now)?

SOTS2 requires at least DirectX 10, which requires at least Windows Vista. XP is not compatible.

As for the CPU, the official minimum is a Core 2 Duo.

This might be a non-North American price only. Seems like they have a separate version, since the Mass Effect I see on their site is suffixed with an “(NA)”.

By the way, I don’t think I’m going to be using my Amazon 2K $5 credit, so if anyone wants to use it, let me know. It’s good through 12/31. It’s an account credit and not a coupon code, so I’d have to buy with my account and then send you all the keys. No extra cost or whatever.

Amazon is price-matching Steam on their GTA games today. They have Steam and non-Steam versions of several franchise titles, though, so make sure you’re getting the one you want. As per usual, you get a $5 credit for their Editor’s Choice sale next month.

Ugh, I just sprang for the Witcher 2 Prima eGuide on primagames.com, and the site sent me a receipt email and everything, but doesn’t acknowledge that I actually bought anything–it doesn’t show up under “My Purchases” and if I logout of the site I still have access to the same stuff I have logged in.

Hmm…That is a fantastic deal but I’m not interested in Stronghold collection (doesn’t include 3) and I already own Civ IV complete. I’ll just wait for Civ V GotY to go on sale for ~ $10 before I bite. I was hoping it would be an Amazon editors choice but they don’t list it as one of them.
