It’s really not. It’s my primary work resolution on this laptop, and it’s perfectly adequate. I can easily have two windows side-by-side, which is a prerequisite. Of course higher resolutions are much nicer, but you have to pay for it. If you’re on a budget though, that isn’t always possible. Hey, it’s much better than my first laptop which was 800 x 600. Another advantage of 1366 x 768 is I can get away with a lesser video card and still get perfectly playable results in just about anything right now.

Gamefly is kicking off a summer sale today, with new deals every day this week.

The highlights from today are Bioshock Infinite for $35 and Fallout New Vegas for $4. Also sales on Aliens: CM, Euro Trucker, and Sniper 2.

It depends on what you’re doing. One stumbling block I ran into was that in Photoshop Elements, the dialog for converting a file from camera RAW is a fixed height, which happens to be 768 pixels. If you’re on a laptop with less than 768 vertical, you can’t get to the buttons. If you’re using a laptop which is precisely 768 vertical, the task bar hides the buttons. You can get around that by hiding the task bar, but this proves to be surprisingly annoying if you’re doing much work.

I can see how that would be annoying. I’m using GIMP with the Canon RAW software, but so far I’ve yet to launch it, I hope it isn’t the same one. I suppose you could always set a larger virtual desktop size, right, and scroll? Not ideal though.

On last bump. Today is the last day for this Amazon Download Mayhem sale. Get 'em now while the getting’s good.

Couple more EA deals (all Origin):

Syndicate for $4.99
Crysis Maximum & Crysis 2 Maximum for $11.99
Crysis 3 for $29.99

Just noticed this EA bundle for $9.99 (Origin). Includes:
[ul]
[li]Mirror’s Edge[/li]> [li]Mercenaries 2[/li]> [li]Burnout: Paradise Ultimate Box[/li]> [li]The Saboteur[/li]> [li]Bulletstorm[/li]> [/ul]

XCOM: Enemy Unknown is now $9.99 (Steam)

Hold up on that Indieroyale for a sec if you’re mainly interested in Primordia.

That game is also a bonus in Groupees’ BeMine 8, assuming it makes 1000 more sales this week.

Last call on the Sherlock Holmes bundle.

If you’ve already bought it, GOG keys expire on July 2nd. Redeem them before then!

I got xcom off of amazon, but it doesn’t come with the DLC that is apparently necessary to customize your soldiers to any degree(make them pretty colors). This is deeply frustrating

That’s a free expansion/patch…strange.

It was free if you preordered. You have to buy it separately otherwise.

Today on Steam, FTL for $4.99 (50% off). When I play this, I’m gonna name my ship Sundog.

So GG and Richard and Alice are part of this bundle “under greenlight”. If they get greenlit do I get working Steam keys for them down the road?

I actually think Sundog was a much better game :( I think FTL is waaaay overrated.

IIRC Indieroyale has been good about that, yeah.

I was browsing over at GoG and noticed that they have Arcanum on sale for $2.99.

It’s part of their “Adventures with Activision” Promo.

DMC, Devil May Cry is on sale for 40% off on Steam.
What kind of game is this like? Similar to DarkSiders? Is it a game that relies on mastering difficult combos?

Yep like darksiders, you dont need to master too much and it’s had good reviews and feedback. Like Bayonetta or Gods of War as well.

It’s not at all like Darksiders! There are no items or puzzles or exploration or RPG elements… It’s 85% battles, 15% transversal. And it’s way better than Darksiders. No difficult combos. It’s an awesome brawler.

Thanks! I’ve been looking at re-acquiring that game!

FWIW, I wasn’t super excited about either of them. They each took an hour or less and I saw some interesting sights, so it worked out okay. But I learned that I need some sort of context or gameplay for my walking simulators (like Skyrim).
