Insane Bundle, if not at all Humble. Should be Ostentatious Bundle, but that doesn’t rhyme. Makes the “when ISN’T it on sale??” THQ item bundle look positively dreary. Have probably 60% of this already, but yeah, for DS3 and a couple of Sims expansions I don’t have, makes sense.
The free stuff thread should be glorious in the next week or so :)
BTW Steam for Dead Space, Burnout, Crysis 2, MoH, and Mirror’s Edge.
Well the bundle is over 200K sales in just a few hours so not surprising Origin is getting hammered. Probably will be the biggest sale Humble has ever done.
BTW, it’s not mentioned in the ad copy on the Humble site for some reason, but you get a DLC pack “Date Night”, as well. You have to redeem on the Sims 3 site, but it’s there and they’re charging $30+ for it so I guess it must have something good in it.
I presume the EA (Not So) Humble Bundle just gives you a bunch of product keys to redeem in Origin and/or Steam? As such, one should be able to give away any redundant keys? And do we need a game-swapping companion thread now? :)
Holy … is this for real?!?
edit - I agree that this is a brilliant move to drive customers to Origin. I suppose they figured that those who are trying the games for the first time weren’t likely to buy them otherwise at this point in their cycle.
Wow. This is probably the smartest thing I’ve seen EA do in a long time. Most of those games are $5 sale games on Amazon and Steam during the Summer/Winter sales, and thus heavily distributed already, but throwing in Dead Space 3 in the initial bundle makes it very attractive.
I have zero interest in Battlefield 3 or Sims 3, but I own no Dead Space titles on PC, skipped MoH and never bought Crysis 2. I’m likely going to throw $5 at this and increase my backlog, then give away the BF3 and Sims 3 stuff if the keys are separate. What a deal.
Origin - “Code redemption is not working at this time.”
LOL
Yes, all keys are separate for both Origin and Steam.
So much for making a good first impression!
Looks like they just brought more capacity online. Took me an hour to register the first 4 games on Origin, but did the last 2 in seconds.
Great deal BTW, I didn’t have any of these games yet.
They could make about $2.5M by the end of the first day, which is where the THQ bundle sale ended. And it’s all going to charity (minus the optional HB tips).
Edit: I mean the Deep Silver bundle sale, not THQ. It just has some formerly THQ games in it.
Most of the games in this pack are old, have already been heavily discounted, and in some cases (Medal of Honor, say) aren’t that great to begin with. But the inclusion of Dead Space 3 and Sims 3 with some expansion content makes it pretty bargain-riffic all right. Also, Humble Bundles typically have a second wave of content later in the sale. In this case I suspect we’ll see Dead Space 2 (which is otherwise conspicuous in its absence), perhaps one or both other Crysis titles…maybe BF3/Sims 3 DLC? I hope so.
With the size of my backlog where it is, screw Steam sales…I’m just waiting for games to hit the Bundles. They’re a hellacious good deal seeing as how I didn’t own a single title in this one.
I got it just for ME. Played it years ago on the 360, looking forward to playing it again on PC.
Has anyone been able to register The Sims 3? I tried it on Origin but it says that I need to register it on the website. The problem is that the site asks for a 20-digit code and the code provided to me by Humble Bundle has 16 digits.
Well, that bites. That was the primary reason I bought the bundle. Please if someone figures it out, post how to do it.
Yeah, same here. Didn’t own any of these and I couldn’t resist throwing $4.56 at 'em to get all these games.
So since we get a key for Origin and Steam, can we give away an Origin key for a game we redeem on Steam?

Here’s hoping they add Mass Effect 3 to the bundle. Have Dead Space 1 and 2 on Steam, but I was willing to pay a dollar for Dead Space 3 on Origin. I’ve also got Mass Effect 1 and 2 on Steam and I’d be willing to split that dollar 50/50 to get ME3 on Origin too.
Dead Space 3 at least I’m pretty sure I’d play at some point, but ME3 I want just for completeness sake. Would’ve been willing to pay a whole $5 each for them on Steam, same as I’ve been grabbing the Assassin’s Creed games after a few years, but such is life for EA.
A Humble Bundle like this is an easy buy. Almost all money goes to charity and getting all those games, none of which I own (except for BF3, on PS3, which I got for free anyway), is a crazy good deal. I toss $10 at them just because I like the concept, even though Action genre games aren’t my thing. Talk about pumping up my backlog!
Am I correct in understanding that Sims 3 does not come with a Steam code?
The Origin registration system is pretty shaky right now. Downloading works fine, but whatever server they’re using for registration is clearly getting hammered.
As far as the code, mine was 16-digits but it went through, no website required. Maybe it’s an international thing?
