No direct experience but all the reviews and user commentary I’ve encountered suggest that it’s pretty terrible.

There was a roguelike type game similar to dungeonbowl, I’ll see if I can find it.

Has anyone mentioned Populous?

Yes. See posts #3022 through 3024.

Triggercut was referencing a Qt3 meme.

Amazon’s deal of the week is the Call of Duty franchise. Since it’s CoD the prices aren’t rock bottom, but if you want to modernize your warfares or blacken your ops they have some reasonably discounted Steam codes.

But the secret best deal is in their indie section where Tales from Space: Mutant Blobs Attack is $3.99. I loved this game on my Vita and would heartily recommend it to anyone at that price on Steam (the Vita version is actually only $2 right now on PSN, though, so don’t miss out on that if you have the hardware!). The same developers latest game Guacamelee is also at a slight discount of $13.49 for a Steam code. It, too, is a smashing fun time with even more beautiful art.

The original Devil Summoner isn’t in English at all; its only releases were on Saturn and PSP, and have received neither official western releases nor fan translations. The only info I could find for an English patch for Shin Megami Tensei if… was a stalled project from last year, and Shin Megami Tensei NINE (a Japan-only release for the original Xbox) hasn’t had anything done.

I’m a little surprised no one has pointed out Populous is in the bundle.

It is Footbrawl Quest.

Game of Thrones Special Edition is being offered on Steam for $7.49 U.S. It includes:

[li]Game of Thrones
[/li][li]Game of Thrones: Beyond the Wall - (Blood Bound) DLC
[/li][li]Game of Thrones - Dog Pack DLC
[/li][li]Game of Thrones - Weapon Pack DLC

I hadn’t purchased this due to the bad reviews and the Act Control DRM, but apparently the Steam version of the game does not have the Act Control DRM. Now that the price has been so drastically reduced, I’m wondering if the game is worth it. Is it?

I know some people here love it. It was too slow for my taste, but then again talky RPGs have fallen out of favor with me.

Great writing and story, decent graphics, bad combat. I enjoyed it, and I paid $10 for it.

And what the heck is “Act Control DRM”?

Thanks for the replies, Giaddon and flyinj.

From what little I’ve read about Act Control, I think it’s the U.S. version of StarForce.

No.

Code of Princess is a fine time-waster, but it’s a little clunky and gets pretty tedious.
SMT IV is better than Soul Hackers.

How does Game of Thrones compare to Skyrim? Is it in the same ballpark? I assume it’s an open-world game, right?

It’s not an open world game, and I don’t know why you would assume that. They are nothing alike, other than a fantasy setting.

I don’t know why I assumed that… it seems like a Game of Thrones game should be open-world because half the fun would be exploring. In any event, thanks for answering my question. :)

Nah, it’s a very narrative focused game with two pregenerated protagonists - a fire priest and a Watchman. It’s a sort of B-plot to the books, from what I gather. Which seems a lot closer to the source material than an open world game would be, imho.

Getloadedgo’s new sale is on select Ubisoft games. Any 2 for $10. Some great deals here.

Game of Thrones has one of the best stories I have ever experienced in gaming, and I did finish Torment/Bloodlines/Witcher 2. Just riveting stuff.
Gameplay is mediocre, but for me it was very much worth getting through it, for the story. Especially for anyone who likes the show/books.

Hmm. Maybe worth playing on super-easy “you are a 5 year old with ADHD” difficulty.
