With the cards from this Port Royale game, you have a chance of getting the :weed: emoticon which is apparently worth at least $13. Crazy.

I don’t think I’ve scrambled that quickly, like I just did, to see if I owned a particular game in a long time ;

Gamefly has a 20% discount on many PC downloadable games: GFDSEP20.

I just picked up Amnesia: Machine for Pigs for $16 bucks.

Toys r us has a 20% off coupon on entire order (free shipping too) which works on quite a few preorder items for next gen consoles:

code: FRIENDS20

I’m on the fence since I might still want to go all digital and I kind of want the games on release day.

Steam’s deal of the day is Towns for $5.09 (66% off).

Also on sale at Steam: Sid Meier’s Pirates at 75 % off. I have never played that one, and am considering it now, but is it still fun these days? It’s not the price that bothers me, at €2,50 that wont hurt, but adding a game I;m not going to play for more then an hour to my backlog isn’t what I want, no matter how cheap it is…

Thoughts anyone?

It’s awesome.

My thoughts are, embrace the backlog. It’s your friend and only wants what’s best for you. Also, Sid Meier’s Pirates kicks ass. At least I remember it kicking ass ten or so years ago.

I just bought Pirates, too. Its manual looks nice, and makes me nostaligic for non-pamplet manuals of yore. Instead of the backlog, I think I’ll sneak in an hour or two in-between my current game (Persona 3 Portable) this weekend.

Pirates is not that great. It’s a collection of mini-games without quite enough meat to tie the whole experience together. Just grab Assassin’s Creed 4 next month.

Thirding (I think) Sid Meier’s Pirates, which is a hoot. Giaddon’s right about the “collection of minigames” aspect, but they were each engaging, and I thought they tied together fine. I found the whole thing very appealing—and cartoony and slightly goofy isn’t usually my bag. The sneering aristo who says “CHUVON!” at you still pops into my head from time to time.

There’s a “sneaking through town” mission that didn’t work all that well, but that was my only real quibble.

Switching up, I’m tempted by Risen 2 for $5.00, but the consensus opinion is not encouraging.

Ok, bought it. Thanks for convincing me!

You’ve done the right thing. Don’t listen to that degenerate Giaddon. You’re on the road to happiness and fulfillment.

Get ready to make love to your 10key. It’s just like data entry!

Yeah, that will take a while to get used to. As will the speed at which the ship sails around the worldmap, and the fact that I don’t have a clue what to do yet. Still, my first hour with this game was definitely not the last: I like what I’m seeing!

Ehm, actually, no, that’s a lie. I can’t honestly say I like what I’m seeing… But I find that doesn’t matter much, because I like the feel of the game. Glad I bought it!
