Thanks. But I bought the DLC today anyway, after playing about an hour yesterday. I guess I should have bought the game earlier :)

(I’ve watched some of my students play it before…)

It really is one of those games that you look at and go “why would i play that”. It doesn’t translate well in reviews or even with other people talking about it. Once you play though, it all clicks.

Have you been around GOG for 5 years or so? If so you might get some free money over there:

We have to post a screenshot? Can anyone here walk me through that? Back in the day when I had a website, I’d just uploaded the screenshot to that server, and then linked to that image. I assume there is a way to upload to somewhere on the web for free and then post a link to there?

No one is posting screenshots, just put in the days from your account page. :)

Everyone is uploading .jpgs of their account page and attaching the files to their posts.

Rock8man, no need for a URL, just upload the file and attach it to your post. you’ll need a freeware utility to clip out part of your screen and save it as a file. Try ShareX.

I use GIMP and/or irfanview. both are free easy to use tools. Press alt+prtscrn while you have your browser window selected. then open a paint program like the two listed, and hit ctrl-V. Crop to your liking.

Or use Windows 7 built-in Alt-PRTSC and MS Paint.

Back to Steam!
Deal of the day is Receiver for $2.49 (-50%). It’s an FPS that’s been Greenlit.

Cool. Thanks, KaoFloppy. The Pit’s DLC is on sale for 50% off ($2.49). So tempting…

GamersGate is having a sale on all things Victoria. Its Victoria Collection is priced at $9.99 U.S. and includes:
[ul]
[li]Victoria
[/li][li]Victoria: Revolutions
[/li][li]Victoria II
[/li][li]Victoria II: Interwar Artillery Sprite Pack

The Victoria II: Heart of Darkness expansion is missing from the collection, but is on sale for $5.

One word of warning: The GamersGate version of Victoria II will not work on Steam!

Of course, a similar Victoria pack is on sale on Steam this week for the same price, and does include Heart of Darkness.

Tom loved this game, I guess, but I never could figure it out. Of course, I could never figure out any of the Paradox games.

Yeah, I enjoy following along with Let’s Plays for Victoria 2 but when I’m faced with a game of my own I never really know which knobs and levers to turn/pull to help my situation.

I’ll keep coming back to it though because I love the time period and I feel like I’m this [holds thumb and forefinger half an inch apart] close to having things ‘click’. :-)

Or the Snipping Tool (in Accessories folder).

The above deals end Wednesday, and I neglected to mention they unlock on Steam.

Amazon also has a Battlefield 3 sale going today and Tuesday in anticipation of the Battlefield 4 beta this week. You can buy the BF3 Premium Edition for $19.99, or if you have the base game, just the Premium service for $14.99. Both unlock on Origin and get you early access to the B4 beta.

!!! It’s amazing the kinds of stuff buried inside an operating system.

So that’s what that’s for. I thought it was for circumcisions.

Daily: Kinetic Void $6.80 (-66%). It’s an early access game…3D spacy Brian game/sim/something.

Midweek ending Oct 3:
Reus $4.99 (-50%).
Mars: War Logs $6.79 (-66%).

Kinetic void might be TOO early access, as there’s really no there there.

The very walls of the forum know his true Name.
