Not discounted, ($6.99) but reliving being John Romero’s bitch is priceless. Now on Steam.

I thought this was the bargains thread.

Valhalla Knights (PSP) is now free on the PlayStation Store, down from $4.99. It’s listed as a permanent price change in the PS Blog store update post, not a sale; I’m guessing it’s a stealth promotion for the new game on Vita.

Also, Mamoru-Kun Has Been Cursed! (PS3) is currently $9.99, normally $19.99. Highly recommended if you have even a passing interest in shmups; it’s got a lower skill requirement for entry than a Cave game, but ramps up nicely in the later stages, and is pretty tough if you play for score. This version is actually a port of a Japan-only 360 port of an arcade game, and was a retail release in Japan; the PS3 version includes all the DLC from the 360 version, plus some exclusive content.

Spotted a Popcap PC game collection at a Walmart in Michigan today.

Ten games for $9.99 (50% off $20, which is already a bargain if you’d like the titles). Plants vz Zombies, Bookwoom Adventures, Peggle, Peggle Nights, Zuma’s Revenge and a few others.

If being JR’s bitch is priceless, then why do I have to pay $6.99 for the privilege? DOES NOT COMPUTE.

I bet they are selling this to capture the morbid fascination money:
“It can’t be as bad as people say, right?”
[5 minutes later…]
“My eyes! The goggles do nothing!”

Remember this video? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Yy8YThhaAxg

So much to laugh at. I love the JR toadies at 0:56.

I have a Daikatana box. Not the game, just the box. It is one of the few game boxes I have kept. Because it’s a teaching prop.

Don’t you see? Playing Daikatana at any price is a bargain. It is to be part of PC gaming history. Folklore.

If you’re so insanely cheap that you haven’t bought One Finger Death Punch for $2, you can now get it for a mere $.99:

It’s worth ten times that much.

What kind of game is it? What do you do in it? Name sounds silly so I never paid attention before. Why do you love it Nightgaunt?

I have one too. MIne’s still sealed, as I picked it up on release and then didn’t get around to playing it right away. Once the reviews were out, I didn’t ever bother to get to playing it.

The completely unsubtle tilt down to Stevie Case’s boobs at 3:06 during her interview segment is also priceless. Good ol’ games journalism!

Anyway, as a deathmatch game Daikatana’s multiplayer mode was pretty good actually. Of course it never developed any kind of community so it is worthless.

There’s nothing wrong with Daikatana that another $100 and 5 years of development wouldn’t fix.

I think the camera was zooming in on her hand gestures. Yeah that’s gotta be it…I had to watch that segment a few times to be sure though.

So what the heck is Desura? Is it just another steam like client? Is it any good? I’ve already got steam, origin, gamestop/impulse installed. The thought of another game download client just kind of pisses me off.

For me, One Finger Death Punch is a game to test my reflexes. You have to be able to process enemies approaching from both sides of the screen and choose who you want to attack (once they get close enough). There are subtle differences between some of the enemies and weapons that you fight with. I love the light sword! Abilities are unlocked too as you progress through the game, so you get to pick the 3 that best suit your play style.

Now I’m not a fighting game person, but in this game there are no combos to have to memorize. Attacking is simply clicking the left or right mouse button, based on what side you want to attack. The game can be frantic, but not in an overwhelming way. Again, a fun way to challenge your reflexes.

That’s basically what I thought. Bad camera work, but I didn’t automatically jump to the “she has breasts, that must be why they panned down!” conclusion at all.

But people just love to be offended these days.

It is similar to steam, but it really just exists as a game installer / launcher. Once installed, I just created a shortcut to the game within Steam and it launches One Finger Death Punch just fine - no login necessary.

Steam deal of the day is the colorful neo-retro:
BIT.TRIP Runner 2 $5.09 (-66%). I’ll spare you guys the FULL NAME of the game.
BIT.TRIP RUNNER $3.39 (-66%).
None of the other BIT.TRIP games are on sale.

Incidentally, another oldie popping up:
Silent Storm Gold Edition $7.49 (-25%). Sale ends Oct 9. Also includes Sentinels, just like GOG’s version.

BIT.TRIP Runner 2 is well worth it. If you’re turned off by the look of the prior game I think you’d be pleasantly surprised by this one.
