Just waiting for someone to chime in about the Dragon Commander game, then we’ll all save a bunch this weekend by buying nothing!
(But hey, One Finger Death Punch is only $2 (-0%). Just not on Steam.)

With all the money you save by passing on the Steam sales, this week’sHumble Saleseems like a pretty good one:

Cities XL Platinum
Blood Bowl: Legendary Edition
Divinity II: Developer’s Cut
R.A.W. Realms of Ancient War
Game of Thrones
Confrontation

Pay $6 or more to unlock two more games!
Wargame: European Escalation
The Testament of Sherlock Holmes

Are any of those good? I recognize a couple as having pretty bad reviews.

Divinity II is great. Blood Bowl is very good (but that’s an outdated edition in a franchise that does full reups like a sports game instead of expansions or DLC). Wargame is supposedly very good (but superseded by AirLand Battle). Game of Thrones is reputedly a good story with mediocre game execution.

Yes, very disappointing. I was hoping it would get fixed but I am certainly in no hurry to buy a new version to (possibly) see those fixes.

+1. It’s a shame it’ll never truly be fixed.

From what I’ve gathered, the Ultra update/expansion will switch SSFIV to Steam only. So it seems like a safe bet, but when dealing with Capcom communication is, as typical, fairly lacking anything concrete.

Hey now, maybe some of us need some motivation to actually play the games we buy ;)

Also, there’s no reason to think GFWL goes down in Feb. The only date I’ve seen is July 1, though Microsoft hasn’t confirmed that.

Amazon’s new deals of the week include Street Fighter X Tekken for $7.49, or a complete version with DLC for $14.99. They also have the Tomb Raider reboot for $9.99. These unlock on Steam.

Except for SSFIVA. They plan to update the game when they release the “Ulitmate” DLC for $15.

If you don’t buy SSFIVA now and upgrade later, Ultimate SSFIVA will be $40.

The Golden Joystick Awards thing seems to be working now.

Well…sort of. I get the feeling this is on the same server as Obamacare exchanges.

This game must really be lousy. They’re currently removing every negative post against the game in the Steam forums and banning anyone who doesn’t give it positive remarks.

Gah, really? Fucking pathetic.

I had to see for myself. I saw three locked threads in the community forums. One suggested everyone play a competitor’s game, one was someone returning from a ban after accusing the developer of running a scam, and one suggested it was a “fraud” to charge $10 for the game in its current state.

I wouldn’t blame them in any other industry, but these are kids and videogames and the Internet. You have to let people get it out of their systems. Besides, the diehards will stick up for the game eventually.

Of course the way to look at this is you can get Divinity II, Blood Bowl Legendary Edition, and Game of Thrones for $1. It’s hard to pass on that if those games sound even a little interesting. I’ve always been interested in Blood Bowl so that alone was enough to get me to pull the trigger.

Threads aren’t being locked, they’re being deleted. I was keeping tabs on the thread last night while watching the Louisville game and it had to be more than 20 threads were outright deleted in just a couple of hours. Since I don’t own the game, I don’t have a big stake in this. But deleting any negative comment in order to make the forums look good while the game is on Steam sale (and we know that sales like result in large increases in units moved) strikes me as a distasteful money grab.

Dead Space sale at Greenman Gaming. $5 each for the first two, $15 for the third.

This kind of policed feedback is always a bad thing, but personally, I thought SD wasn’t so bad, the best of all the recent mediocre 4x titles.
However, in some areas the game is clearly a bit unpolished and even unfinished - the worst offense the game commits is being good enough to see it’s potential if a number of changes were made.
Unfortunately, the developer has been twiddling his thumbs for the most part since the game was released - there were some patches with minor stuff improved, but the areas where improvements are needed the most lie dormant.
Worth a tenner in my book. I paid $25’ish and am ok with it - though not delighted. I’d feel better having paid $50 but a real MoO-successor on hand.
