I think it may be a price match, but Amazon has Halo 4 marked down to $9.99 right now.

Has anyone tried either of these?
I tried JA:O a long time ago, and was very much put off after a very short time by all the IAP nonsense, but the product desription on Steam for these claims this is a non-issue in these editions and that they come with single-player campaigns which can be downloaded and played.
Yet I can’t really find any worthwile reviews - can anybody shed some light on this?

Steam’s sale today: Ace Combat Assault Horizon - Enhanced Edition $7.49 -75%.
Steam’s midweek sales:
$2.49 -75% Terraria
$5.10 -66% Dust: An Elysian Tail. $5.10? Original price is $14.99. That’s some rounding error. Anyways, I bought this at the last big steam sale, and I wanted to play it by year end.
I’m always looking for excuses to write off marginal games. I wasn’t sure I could take the humor and art style, so I skipped it. But now I’m riding a wave of beat 'em ups. I feel like I should try this in the interest of science (and my thread). Unfortunately, I’m working on DmC and I plan to get Guacamelee at the next sale. My hands literally cannot take all this gamepad button mashing.
If you want someone to discuss it with, I’ll try to sneak it in sometime before year end.

New deal on IndieGameStand is: Ring Runner: Flight of the Sages, a 2D spaceship rpg action game.
$1 minimum for Desura, GOG, and eventual Steam keys; beat the average (currently $1.67) for wallpapers, the soundtrack, and a novel-length ebook.

Thanks for the Ring Runner info. I thought about biting on other bundles with it but wasn’t interested in the rest of the stuff. Glad I could get it for pretty cheap by itself.
Groupees has a new bundle starting in a few hours.
Five bullet hell-ish games (eXceeds), a visual novel-ish game and this one.
That’s one of the best indie bundles I’ve seen in a long time, considering my very specific tastes in games.
Higurashi alone is worth it; I’m guessing it’s only the first four episodes (of eight), but that’s still normally $16, and it’d only be $1.50 here with another game. The folks at MangaGamer have discussed redoing the translation (which is pretty bad at this point) for the upcoming Steam release, so I imagine that’d apply to this version as well if it happens, even if it doesn’t end up getting Steam keys added for whatever reason.
Also, this bundle is Hellsinker’s official English debut.
Hey you never answered my question about Sine Mora, but I figured it out after reading some posts at the shmups forum.
In this bundle, it looks like Exceed, Hellsinker, and Kamui are all very popular. Exceed looks similar to Ikaruga, so maybe I don’t have to play that one anymore. I’ll definitely grab it.
It’s madness to me that they have a countdown until the bundle starts. So many impulse purchases lost in the ether.
They want to make sure to drum up enough people to bring down their servers.
Tim: I actually only saw the notification for it this morning and thought you might’ve found the answer already. Sorry about that.
eXceed 2nd is pretty much Ikaruga, while eXceed 3rd is a more traditional bullet-hell shooter.
(Looking at that shmups forum poll, man, it’s a shame this bundle couldn’t include Crimzon Clover. One of the coolest doujin games around, it’s got the production values of an arcade shmup and the mechanics to back that up. It was so popular on PC that it ended up getting a rebalanced release for arcades via Taito’s NESiCA digital-distro platform, and considering how popular the PC version has proven to be for importers, I honestly wouldn’t be surprised if it got an official English release at some point.)
Yeah, while poking around the forum, I saw some people asking about a potential Steam release. Just rumors now. But with Steam’s cut rate pricing and my semi-casual interest in the genre, I think I will hold out and hope. This bundle should be more than enough for a while anyway.
And FWIW, so far DmC is just the gentle introduction I need to 3D beat 'em ups. I’m happy with it for now.
Don’t write off Dust! Besides having absolutely beautiful animations and effects, it’s got a compelling story and some interesting (if furry-style) characters. The combat is satisfying in presentation and in the oomph it packs. If you really need a challenge to enjoy a beat-em-up then that’s the main reason I think this wouldn’t work for you. I have no such requirement–I want most of my games to be on the easy side. So I cruised my way through the whole game in a few weeks–something I never, ever do and in a genre that I’m not usually into. I thought it was fantastic. I hope it did well for the creator of the game because the illustrations were clearly a labor of love. Easily worth five bucks and I think worth your time unless you sneer at overly easy games. (There is a difficulty setting, by the way, but I can’t speak to whether giving the creatures more hit points or whatever it does really makes the combat mechanics work better.)

I’m thinking of getting it if only for Ticket to Ride. Can it be played local mutiplayer, i.e. as a board game in the living room?
Yes, it has a Pass-and-Play mode. On the iPad at least, I assume the Android version is identical.

IPad? Android? I thought this is a PC game.

Humble Bundle sells it cross-platform PC and Android. So you’ll get both.
