Man, you know we’re nerds when we expect our children to type at at least 40wpm at around 10 years of age ;)

40 wpm? Get that kid addicted to MUDs and I’m pretty sure you can push that to 60 or 80 in short order. Worked for me!

For those who aren’t aware, The House of the Dead: Overkill (which the Steam release is a port/revision of) earned the Guinness World Record for most profanity in a video game. That should tell you a lot about whether or not it’s appropriate for kids.

BUT…typing!

Perfect game to give to nieces and nephews to establish cool uncle/aunt status.

How is that castlevania lords of shadow game? Is it any good?

I’m buying it on the strength of this analysis. The sale’s on for a few more days, and I’ll try to post impressions after I’ve tried it.

We’re due for a few halloween bundles soon, so y’all might want to wait and see what’s in them before buying Halloween sales that last a few days.

One rumored bundle is Typing of the Dead (new one), Total War 2 Shogun, Hell Yeah (rabbit thing), Condemned and a few Genesis games.

I just grabbed Brothers (the game critics were absolutely gushing about a few months ago) for $7.50 on Steam! Pretty sweet deal. Oh, and Painkiller for a buck something because Tom keeps talking about it.

I probably need to learn to touch type. As in proper typing skills!
I think this game is IT!

This game will absolutely not teach you proper typing skills (as in, all fingers on home row).
But I’ve seen people type with two fingers and a thumb and get over 60 wpm anyways. Shrug. So this game will definitely help you type faster.

Pay attention to your wrist, though! If it starts aching, STOP & go away for an hour!

Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines is on the list, 75% off. Sure, everybody owns this, but just in case you are not everybody, correct that mistake ASAP.

Is this actually a bargain? Steam’s deal today is Pro Cycling Manager 2013 $13.59 -66%.

I won’t mention steroids if the game doesn’t.

Amazon has Sleeping Dogs for $4.99. Unlocks on Steam.

That’s pretty close to how I type and I’ve tested at between 80 and 90 wpm.

Imagine how much faster you’d be if you had correct form then! Think of the extra zombies you could be killing.

New weekly deals on Amazon’s download store are a bit anemic. You can get FIFA 14 for $33.99 which is 15% off. They also have stuff for the F2P game Warframe 50% off.

New indieroyale is up. This one is a mix of 8 different genres, including hidden object & time management. Most have been bundled before.

Featuring 8 games, the biggest Indie Royale bundle for some time.Includes Organ Trail: The Director’s Cut, Dark Fall: Lost Souls, Nightmare from the Deep: The Curse Heart, Rise of the Ravager,exCeed 2nd - Vampire REX., Alien Zombie Megadeath, Dead Hungry Diner, Overcast: Walden and the Werewolf

The Sega bundle is now available in their store for 28$.

Too pricy for me, but maybe those of you who were interested in Typing of the Dead might want the other stuff that comes with it.

Indiegala has a halloween bundle up. Price is $3 for a few hours.

The music in this one is pretty good IMO. I liked the 20 minutes each I played of 39 Steps and All Zombies Must Die, which isn’t saying much, but I left them in the backlog instead of throwing them into my bundle junk category. Heard lots of great things about Pathologic.

A new flying bundle & weekly humble will likely be later today.

I played Realms of the Haunting when it first came out. I have no recollection of how it was. Man that was a long time ago.
