I’d go in a two pack with someone for Ironclad Tactics, but my guess is that I’d only play single player. Is it worth it for that?

A new set of 10 mysterious snow globe cards are up on Steam. I guess this’ll be a gimmick with next week’s sale:

Cards from the current Humble Bundle games are dirt cheap if anyone is interested in that.

Groupees has a new bundle with a few interesting games for 75 cents each, 1 game minimum.

I’ve heard quite a few good things about Children of the Nile & Hinterland.

The Ironclad Tactics single-player campaign is pretty good, but not super long. Although he has now added a sort of “new game plus” mode that lets you unlock new cards. I’d say worth it, but I am a bit biased since SpaceChem is one of my favorite games evar.

By the way, there is a game called “The Trouble With Robots” which is kind of similar to Ironclad Tactics which I also like, pick it up if you ever see it on sale or in a bundle or something.

SpaceChem is a very good game. I never finished it, it gets pretty tough!

The Creeper World games are good if you like tower defense.

Agreed about Creeper World. Also Hinterland is a great blending of city-building and ARPG, a bit shackled by being made in the Torque engine. But still very good. And Children of the Nile is excellent unless the idea of a slower Pharaoh/Zeus repulses you.

1 is very good. Don’t expect the best graphics, but the mechanics are great. (And pretty unique)
2 is…okay.

I liked DA2 more than DA:O.

goes back to Qt3 Corner of Shame

So did I.

All I can do is shake my head and walk away. Like when you see a pregnant woman smoking a cigarette. What can you do, really? Some people are just broken inside.

I didn’t like either but I at least finished the first one.

bought the Corner of Shame and own it proudly

I’ve never played any of the Dragon Age games, would Origins be a good one to start with?

Yeah definitely.

Ain’t no shame in that. DA2 was more fun that Origins. Plus didn’t have freaky big hands people.

yes…although not required for DA2 most think it is the better game

I played, finished and liked all three DA offerings, even though DA2 was lacking environments

DA2 is fine for what it is. However, it’s more notable for what it isn’t: a better, expanded version of DA:O. A great many fans wanted that (including me), and were very put out when we didn’t get it.

I just tried the Creeper World demo. It’s a pretty good game. The levels in the demo are not hard to complete, although my scores weren’t that good. I did have to start 1 over when the creepers flooded over a wall.

The levels do get a bit harder. And I remember CW2 being tougher. And CW3 (not in the bundle) is full of a crazy amount of additional mechanics and units and weird challenges. It’s nuts (in a pretty good way).

I missed that was out (oh, recent, right :) ). It looks like CW1, but better, rather than the side-step CW2 was…is that fair?

Yeah, it’s the top-down view of CW1, not the side view of 2. It basically shows you everything CW1 had in the first few missions and then adds a new mechanic or funky scripted sequence every level after that. Honestly, it got a little exhausting, but if more variation sounds good, then I would think you would love it. There were a bunch of locked modes I haven’t seen, including something that looked like infinite procedural levels or maybe player content or something? Anyway, looked really ambitious considering I think it’s still all made by the one guy.
