I didn’t know there was single player DLC.

Tomb Raider is my game of the year. It’s excellent.

Weird. GreenManGaming is selling every single Valve game for cheaper than Steam has ever had it.

Probably some coupon vouchers around too for -20% off.

Done…

…and done.

Not really my favorite game style, but for that price, seems silly not to try out a game that so many enjoyed.

Happy Holidays to all QT3 Bargain Hunters!

I’m tempted to double dip on Dungeon Seige 3 for that price. Assuming it has controller support like the console version, that’s a great Obsidian game. Plus I’ll get $5 off something I want in January maybe.

Rome II is $30 on Steam today.

360 gamepad works fine, IIRC.

The 360 pad works beautifully and is clearly the interface the game was designed for.

Weird. For me the Amazon price on the Dungeon Siege 3 pack is showing up as $5.99. I never played any but the first DS, and enjoyed that one for a while but it was too much of a corridor in the end for me to finish it. Were the sequels much better?

DS2 is some improvements, but mostly more of the same to my taste.

DS3 is a years-later game, and while it’s still an ARPG, it’s a different company and has more of an emphasis on story.

Dungeon Siege 1 and 2 were mouse driven action RPGs like diablo.

Dungeon Siege 3 gives you direct control of your dude and plays more like a console action game with a skill tree and fat loot.

Thanks for the replies on DS3. Now I’m seeing the special on Dark Souls at Amazon and I’m sort of tempted–the gameplay footage I’ve seen gives me a bit of a Blade of Darkness vibe (and I did love me some Blade of Darkness). On the other hand it’s infected with GFWL and who knows whether it’ll be playable in a few months. Is the game as horribly difficult as everyone says?

Yep, DS 3 pack is listing at $5.99.

It’s challenging but fair. It’s a very good game and with DSFix you can unlock the fps and further improve the visuals. GFWL is an annonyance but this is one game where I’d suggest you overlook it and give it a try anyway. If you’re after something that rewards exploration, patience and quick thinking you’ll love this one. It has a very tight combat system with lots of depth and best of all - you won’t have to memorize 50+ combos :).

Thanks–I wonder if it’ll work with xliveless once GFWL goes away (because realistically it could be a while before I get to it).

Today IndieGala is doing 50% off launch price for two of their bundles, one of which is the Teleglitch bundle for $1.99. The other one is their Codemasters bundle with Operation Flashpoint for $2.99.

I’m having trouble finding this. Can you provide a link? Or do you mean to buy it on Steam? It’s showing as $1.49 for me.

Lost Adventurer DLC is $1.50 now, not $0.59. Apparently it’s a single room and there’s a ton of DLC ($20 worth) for this title. Is it all cosmetic?

Yeah, $1.49 for me too… maybe it was a flash sale or something?

Edit to add: I hope you guys are happy… all this ranting about Tomb Raider forced me to go buy a copy from Amazon. With a 10 gig download that means I will be playing it … sometime in a couple days!

It depends. If your sole objection was linearity, well, DS3 is no different in that regard, really. It is a much, much better game in every other respect, with a nuanced, compelling story with a sense of history, morality and humor; the most genuinely challenging and skill-based combat I’ve seen in an ARPG (versus DS1, which played itself); and spectacular visuals and ambience. My only complaints would lie with the coop, which is great fun but has a few questionable design decisions like forcing you onto the same screen even in online multiplayer.
