Wizardry 8 still holds up great. Primitive graphics, but fine. Wiz 7 is totally playable, too. Wiz 6 really doesn’t hold up well-- EGA graphics.

Don’t forget to make a faerie ninja!

JVC did that with the Might and Magic games as well. I remember fighting robots in the late game in both 3 and 6. Wizardry 7 was a bit more blatant and arbitrary than that, though. You start the game meeting chicks on rocket sleds in Wizardry 7, where the M&M series stuck to fantasy until fairly late.

SON OF A BITCH!!! I just bought the 6/7/8 triple pack yesterday morning because I thought “what are the odds Steam puts games as old as Wizardry 8 on flash deals during the sale? Slim to none.” So I snagged it along with the AC Brotherhood and Revelations stuff I bought that WAS on daily deal. Now 24 hours later…I could have saved $1.50!

I’m not really all that upset over $1.50, but it does go to prove that one should NEVER purchase anything during a Steam sale, no matter how old or obscure, without waiting until the very last day to make sure it doesn’t end up a daily or flash sale.

LET ME BE YOUR CAUTIONARY TALE KIDS!

He he… I actually found out Wizardry was available by seeing your purchase on my activity feed, and I came this close to buying them last night.

Thank you for your sacrifice to the Steam gods so that the rest of us may have Wizardry on flash sale!

I remember spending hours after hours rolling for a faerie ninja so I can use that one weapon in Wizardry 7. I had a grand time with it. Bought it instantly when I first learned it was on Steam.

Any love for Deadlight at $3? There’s a thread in QT3 but only 15 posts. Opinions are that it’s just too linear.

It is worth the $3 bucks. It has a decent atmosphere if you like the end of the world stuff.

And how long to beat.com said that it’s a 4 hour game. I’ll bite then. I like short game these days and the price is right!

It’s not short enough. Don’t do it habibi, its not really worth your time. I was pretty excited for it at launch but was bored away after the first hour.

Oh! I was busy with the kids and am thinking of buying it when they are in bed. I’ll listen to you Rockman. Time is more precious than anything and I rather spend more time in State of Decay to get my zombie fix. Thanks!!!

I agree with rockman, it starts off interesting but it gets dull fairly quickly. I don’t really blame the game, though, I think it’s just not the type of piece that matches well with gamer’s very short attention spans these days. Doesn’t help that I am not particularly into platformers.

I’m with rockman, nice graphics but I was bored in… 40 minutes?

Yucks. I’ll pass. My wallet thanks all of you. Well, $3 saved is $3 for other better game.

Hmm. As a general rule I hate side-scrollers and never finish them except for Mark of the Ninja and Deadlight. I had fun with it.

I have a spare Deadlight key from Amazon, from last year, if anyone wants it.

I agree. I didn’t find it worth my time.

More sales in the Humble Store, including Europa Universalis 4 for $10 and Audiosurf for $1.

After hearing EU4 praised so much on the GWJ podcast, I’m a little tempted.

Considering how much I love CK2 I got it when it was $10 a few weeks ago. I bounced off it the first time and went back to playing CK2.
I guess i just need to watch 40 more hours of let’s plays of EU4 like i did with CK2 then I’ll be good to go? Any tips for a CK2 vet trying to break in?
