Great point. I just picked one of those up for $40. Decent deal.

Amazon has Starcraft 2: Wings of Liberty for $19.99 (50% off). It appears it has been half-price either here or on newegg every weekend or so since the end of April, but my son only realized recently that it was a must have game so I was pleased to have it pop up one more time (cause needing 2 copies stinks). Retail copy of course, so gotta wait for shipping.
Gamers’ Gate have a midweek Neverwinter Nights offer, which includes Neverwinter Nights Complete at 66% off - NWN, both expansions, Kingmaker, NWN2 and all expansions. At that price it might be worth picking up, even, if like me, you are only missing a couple of expansions. I never bought Kingmaker or the two NWN2 expansions and as my original disks are a bit ropey, I might be willing to to shell out for it.

Patrician 3 & 4
Dungeons & Dungeons Dark Lord
What makes this one especially boggling is Patrician 4 is currently in the Groupees bundle (running right now!) for $1 with its DLC. Dungeons the Dark Lord was included in one of theirs a few weeks ago too. The music is pretty good though IMO. You can listen to the whole album online here.
Dungeons is not like Dungeon Keeper. Visually yes, gameplay-wise not at all. There’s a free demo you can download on Steam.
March of the eagles is on sale for $9.99 on steam. if I liked EU 3 will I like this?

Free Steam codes. It worked for me. Is it working for you?
Protip: When you solve the captcha, look at the top of the page for your code. The page keeps serving up another captcha, so I redid it several times until I found out that it had actually succeeded.
Is there anything in the Complete pack that’s worth paying for? It looks like its cheaper to just buy the games separately since they come with the expansions.
Maybe. MotE is a wargame, not a grand strategy game. The factors that go into calculating victory are rather numerous and complex although in the end it does tend to boil down to “big armies kill small armies”. The short timeframe means there’s no real opportunity to out-tech or out-grow your opponents, so it’s a matter of picking who to side with and choosing the right moment to enter the war and see what you can grab. It’s not bad for what it is but… I guess for me it occupies a weird space. Slower and more fiddly than I’d like in a war/strategy game, simpler and shorter than I’d like in a grand strategy / historical simulation game. YMMV.
Well spoted I hadn’t noticed that. The two individual packs do work out cheaper if bought separately and contain everything in the complete package. I’ll probably just go for NWN2 Complete as I can live without Kingmaker, given the amount of good mods at NWN vault. A lot of mods for both games require the expansions, but AFAIK nothing requires Kingmaker.
Unity of Command for $4.99 in the same amazon.com sale, good until end of May. Doesn’t seem to be a Steam code. Does anyone know?
Dark Souls: Prepare To Die Edition: “currently unavailable”
C&C Complete appears to be $20 now.
Got Sacred 2 Gold as it’s a bitch to patch if you got the retail release + addon.
Thanks for the heads-up on that one! :)
Sorry to reply to mu own post, but I had a couple of problems with the GG version of NWN2 Complete. The problem arises from the fact that this version of the game is not fully patched and the in-game patcher doesn’t detect any new updates. This means that the third expansion won’t install as it requires patch 1.22. Apparently this also applies to the retail version, but not the Steam version. To fix this have a look at this post on the Bioware forum:
http://social.bioware.com/forum/1/topic/172/index/5688392
The example given in the post actually shows the files needed to fully update the GG/retail version. I also had to use the offline patcher from NWN Vault to install ther patches
Looks like it’s a download from Amazon rather than a Steam code. It’s damned tempting because I keep hearing so many good things about it.

Yup: The QT3 podcast, the 3 moves ahead podcast, probably gamers with jobs, too. There’s time (maybe) for me to try the demo from Steam first before I bite…but for $5 I can skip the demo…
