Awesomenauts is good fun for a few hours even if you just play with bots.
I really enjoyed Hotline Miami, again good fun for a few hours.
Did not like Dear Esther, even though I am usually the type of person that laps up these ‘art games’.

I really liked Hotline Miami from the few levels I played so far. Really cool visual style and music, fun disturbing animal masks, and satisfying weapons.

If you’re at all interested in the game, this bundle is a pretty good deal. Hotline Miami regularly goes on sale for $5 (sometimes less with rare Amazon multi purchase promos), but with this bundle you get a bonus of several other games (that I haven’t played). Plus Humble Bundle always tacks on some extra bonuses during the second week.

Hotline Miami.

Ahem.

Miami, Dear Esther, and Little Inferno are all fantastic.

Capsized and Awesomenauts are good.

Don’t know about the rest, although I hear good things about Proteus (I got the bundle just for that).

Thanks. I edited out the expired EA deals.

I have Little Inferno in the iPad and I don’t get the game. It’s about getting those achievements isn’t it? Otherwise I don’t see a point in just burning. My 4 year old is enthrall end though.

All I’ll say is… it goes somewhere.

Yeah, I probably have more in common with the average 4 year old, but I thought Little Inferno was a kick. Seven if it didn’t actually lead anywhere plot wise, just burning stuff and finding combos was a blast for my little pyro inside.

Found a Steam version of Sacred 2: Gold for $4.99. Added the link to the list above along side the DRM-free version.

Um, the fact that no one is recommending Thomas Was Alone tells me that not enough people have played Thomas Was Alone!

Yes, the game is “just” a simple puzzle platformer. But so much is done with simple art assets, simple gameplay, and some voiceovers. It was one of my favorite games of last year. It’s worth the average price of the bundle by itself, if you ask me.

BUYBUYBUY!

NO! No more indie puzzle platformers! They’ll destroy us all.

My Steam backlog has grown again! Paid $6.66, because, ya know, I could.

Shadow Warrior is free on Steam. I think my Steam client is messed up though. I get a “Play Game” button that takes me to the community page instead of downloading the game. Weird.

Edit: Totally forgot the usual way to fix the Steam client: restart it! All is well now. :)

Amnesia (not Steam) for $3.

I hear this one is spooky!

Also Sacred 2 Gold (Steam) for $5.

Spooky, no. Play it in the dark with headphones and have a heart attack, yes.

True.

Some Rockstar games have been added to the Amazon download sale:

Max Payne 3 + LA Noire Complete for $9.99 (Steam)
Bully for $3.75 (Steam)
Grand Theft Auto IV: Complete for $7.50 (Steam)

Dark Souls is one of the games on sale this week on Xbox. $10 for the download version. I’m so tempted. I know that I already own it on Steam, but when I don’t apply the mod to make it beautiful, it looks kinda bad, and has a poor frame rate. If I do apply the mod, it melts my video card (unless I run my video card fan at top speed, which drowns out the game audio).

Plus with the 360 version, I wouldn’t have to deal with the huge black bars on the top and bottom of my monitor that the PC version has. I do miss playing Demon’s Souls since my PS3 died. So I think I’m going to take plunge.

The only thing holding me back is the damn XBone announcement. Knowing that this digital purchase of Dark Souls won’t be playable on a future console, and will die with my 360s… just makes me not want to spend money on XBLA games anymore.

But Rock8man, think of the $10 360 version is a “rental”. Once you upgrade your PC, you will have your Steam version working properly again.

I would totally think that too (the inevitability of always having a “next PC”), before I got married, but now, it seems that cheaper laptops might be the future of computing in my household, since I’m married to a non-gamer who doesn’t see the need for a powerful computer and prefers laptops. For all I know, this might be my last PC Game machine. (Unless gaming laptops suddenly become a lot cheaper in the future, and I sneak one by her… that would be awesome).
