Good to know Squee, thank you. I loved both Deadlock games a lot.

It’s also worth mentioning that the Steam version of Deadlock 1 is apparently unfixably broken. Post from the porter:

I still picked it up 'cause like you I loved me some Deadlock, I’m a horrible Steam packrat, and I want to believe~

Metro Redux is a weekend deal on Steam, $17 for both games. Solid deal.

Shockingly, the new Call of Duty is 25% off, $45.

Wow. That’s actually pretty crazy.

And 25% off it shall stay for another year and change worth of sales, I bet.

Good thing I still have the GOG versions then. And the disks. ;)

New things on Steam.

Auction promotion someone might be able to get something nice from.

Holiday Train Simulator DLC for $1.50:

The store page is bugged, but it adds both the Holiday Express (last year) and Gnomes (this year) to your account. Played around with it a bit and they each have around an hour of career content.

Indie Royale - Breach 'N Clear is actually pretty good game. Just remember to play in ‘ironman’ mode. Other than that, each mission is fairly short, but there is plenty of replayability. It’s kind of the poor man’s Door Kickers, but fun in its own right.

Deadlock I and II are only $3 each on GOG. Just sayin’.

Are the two Redux games stabler recently? It crashed a fair bit with the latest-at-the-time drivers.

COD was $26US on some gray market sites.

That’s actually pretty terrible.

I’ve got a couple of Deux Ex: The Fall trading cards. Worth about $0.12 (net) to me each. Either one turns into 6 Gems, but since it appears you can turn badge results into 80 gems each, it’s possible to turn them into about 13 gems each that way. So for each Gem created, I could get $0.01 just by selling the cards. If 1 Gem = $0.01, what are the auction prices?

Gnomaria is $8 in the store, or $40 in Gems. King’s Bounty: Dark Side is $25 in the store, or $101 in Gems. Wolfenstein: New Order is $60 in the store (it’s been on sale for $15), or $993 in Gems.

Origin’s current ‘On the House’ freebie is Sim City 2000 Special Edition.

The big use of those gems is to cut your useless cards down to size.

There is a limited-time “2014 Holiday Profile” item up for auction, and the top bid is currently at 1,327,200 gems. What. The. Fuck.

The auction thing looked a lot better when I posted it. :/

I think there might’ve been some kind of gem exploits going around… I just looked on the market and there was something like 180,000 stacks of 1000 being sold for 3 cents each.

That’s probably it. That’s 300:1 compared to the trading card conversion rate, which brings turns those auction prices into bargains. $3 for Wolfenstien? I’ll take that. Though obviously as long as it’s possible to buy gems at $0.00003 each, selling trading cards for cash and then buying gems is 300x as efficient as converting the cards directly.

I was thinking about Metro since I plan to get a new videocard and it’d be fun to look at the graphics, but I think I must still be burned out from the original. The gameplay videos were kind of a turnoff.

I might play Alien: Isolation instead.

Yup, I converted all my wall-papers and emoticons. Got about 4000 worth of gems. Converted those to about 5 card bundles. Sold those for about $0.50 to $0.90. Made about a few bucks from stuff worth nothing. A little bit of work, but I was bored.

Looks like Valve removed the promotion from the front page and removed the gems from the market. Probably because of exploits giving people seemingly unlimited gems which was completely tanking the card system/economy since people could exchange gems directly for cards. Will be interesting to see if they try to fix it and start it up again before the winter sale on the 18th, or if they just give up and do a normal winter sale.

Unfortunately for me I had a big card stockpile from the whole year which I planned to cash in on when they ran badge-crafting promotions during the winter sale, but with the gempocalypse a lot of cards dropped in price. Oh well.

The first Dead Space is for free at Origin.

Is the Crysis 3 Digital Deluxe Edition worth a couple of bucks more than the standard version? I already have Crysis 2.
