Steam mid-week #2: Octodad: Dadliest Catch - $5.09 - (66% off).
For the price of another pack of smokes…
Katauri only made the first three of the reboot (Legends, Armoured Princess and Crossworlds) the last of which was released in 2010. According to their site they are currently working on free-to-play MMO Royal Quest, with the open beta of the English version starting on Steam imminently (end of July).
GameStop is having a summer sale, with some good deals. I picked up the latest SimCity for $12, low enough for me to see what the fuss was about. So far, I actually quite like the multiplayer implementation.
Greenman Gaming is having a sale on Kalypso games, which, along with voucher O7CNAE-Z1Y29P-QZAJ1I allowed me to pick up Hegemony: Rome and Rise of Venice: Gold for $6 each.

Gamestop also has a deal where you can trade in your PS3 version of The Last of Us and get 50% off the PS4 version. Ends August 2.
Dawn of Discovery Gold is $12 in that Gamestop sale.
Steam today: FTL: Faster Than Light - $3.39 - (66% off).
Seriously, all of you should have this game by now. Mine is from GOG so you can’t see me play on Steam!
Wasn’t it part of a humble bundle at some point? If so, I might already own it. When it came out I was scared away by the phrase “contains rogue-like elements”.
C’mon, you add those to your Steam client as a non-Steam game so people can see your addiction!
Dunno about the bundle, but I will say don’t be frightened. Yes, it is a rogue-like, but it’s a great one. Just don’t be afraid to play on easy mode for a good long while to give yourself a chance to learn; I played probably a half dozen easy mode games before I finally won one, but I loved them all.

Humble Bundle 9, with games like Fez, Bastion, Mark of the Ninja, and Brutal Legend. Where I got it too.

Just played The Fall, I really liked it. It’s short (I got through it in four hours or so) but worth the $5 for the atmosphere and writing. Apparently it was kickstartered, though I’d never heard of it before.
FTL is way less punishing than Rogue. There aren’t any cursed weapons or unidentified potions that teleports you etc. that will cause you to die for no reason & no recourse. Just prepare to fail/die constantly anyways.
It does have fountain-equivalents, though. By which I mean text encounters were the prudent thing to do is run away unless you have an item that gives you a blue-text good outcome. STAY AWAY FROM THE GIANT ALIEN SPIDERS.
Thanks for posting this. I picked up Hegemony Rome : Rise of Caesar today for $7.49, which is a good $12.50 cheaper than the lowest sale price I’d seen on it previously.
It also becomes my 300th Steam game. Problem? What problem?
Both added to backlog! :p
Titanfall Season Pass is 20% off on Origin bringing it to $19.99
Which is about the price of a fake pack of Nicoderm patches to help you quit your fake smoking habit that started recently.

Note that the deal will expire tomorrow (Thursday) at 10 AM PDT.

697 here. Damn bundle backlog builders!

Is Industry Empire any good? It seems like the reviews on steam say this game is pretty much trash.
Wow! I am not sure there are even 697 games on Steam that I would want to own/play. Though I feel your pain about the bundles. I have several games in my library that I will probably never touch simply because they were added when I redeemed a bundle key. I’m glad that most bundle deals seem to allow you to separate keys for redemption so I can keep my library mostly junk-free. It also means I have a crapton of keys for games I am not interested in or are duplicates that I can give away, I should probably organize them all and do that soon…
I hate Steam’s library organization “tool”, just a single level folder that must be alphabetical, and only syncs between PCs occasionally.
