I don’t know what this is, but I will cherish it always.

I was thinking the exact same thing! I think it’s supposed to be a gossip thing, like:
“Oh, you know, I heard Sarah and her personal trainer have been exercising at all hours.”

Agreed! This was a very nice approach to roguelike gameplay. Imagine a random dungeon map, but you are forced to move forward since the playfield is constantly scrolling to the right. Anything that moves off the screen, dies. That includes you! Death is rewarded with points you can spend on new powers, classes, and other upgrades.
Looks like Silent Storm Gold Edition is a stealth bargain on Steam for $2.50.
Wasn’t this the game that had severe issues with any sort of recent computer/OS?

Silent Storm is a lot of fun. It’s one of my all time favorite games.

I am playing Silent storm right now and it is a lot of fun. My only issue so far is that it doesn’t support 1920x1200.
I’d buy Silent Storm again except that I’m staring at the box for the Gold edition right now. It’s sitting on the top shelf of my desk.
I played the heck out of the original, but for some reason never got off the ground with the sequel. Which is included with the Gold edition.
Japanese game sale on Steam. Personal highlights are La-Mulana for $3 and the eXceed bundle for $3.39. (Note that the first eXceed is Godawful, but it’s still cheaper to buy the bundle for the second and third games than to buy them separately.)
There’s also some overlap here with the current Humble Weekly and the Groupees Build A Be Mine Bundle, so keep that in mind if you’re interested in any of the relevant games there.
Steam today: Supreme Ruler 1936 - $13.59 - (66% off).
Tag says Grand Strategy game, released in May 2014. Has anyone heard of this game before?
Steam weeklongs. My picks are:

[li]Tesla Effect: A Tex Murphy Adventure - $9.99 - (50% off).[/li][li]Super Hexagon - $1.01 - (66% off).[/li][li]Total War: Shogun 2 - Fall of the Samurai - $7.49 - (75% off). Strangely, TW:S2 itself is not on sale.[/li][li]Waking Mars - $1.99 - (80% off).[/li][li]VVVVVV - $2.49 - (50% off).[/li][li]Avernum: Escape From the Pit - $1.99 - (80% off).[/li][li]Theme Park Studio - $19.79 - (34% off). Early access, but 100% thumbs up…[/li][/ul]

There’s some discussion of the game in this thread, in case anyone’s curious.

Silent Storm is great for a while, up until the Panzerkleins show up. Ugh, Panzerkleins.
As a fan of steam punk, i never understood this complaint.
Pretty sure there was a mod that would de-PK it.
Here? Not sure it works.
I’m a fan of chocolate. Doesn’t mean I want it on my steak.
On a more serious note, PKs completely broke earlier skill choices and tactical approaches in the game, after they arrived. You either retooled your guys to be PK operators (or pre-tooled if you had played before) or faced the consequences. This was particularly jarring on the first play through, when the PK surprise was sprung on you half way into the game. The delta between the pre- and post-PK games was just way too big.
Humble flash bundle, 5 hidden object games
These get a thumbs up from me if you’re into this stuff.
The problem isn’t that they’re out of place. The problem is that Panzerkleins take most of the hard choices out of the game. It changes the game from a delicate tactical dance where you’re worried about your guys all the time to one where you just bull forward and shoot.
It’s worth contrasting how Panzerkleins damage gameplay to how MECs do not in XCom. Because MECs, despite having a lot more HP than the regular soldier, are actually kind of squishy since they can’t take cover. Panzerkleins, in contrast, are generally pretty safe in the open.
