Is no one excited about this? I thought this was one of the Holy Grails. I’d always meant to check it out if it ever showed up, but I’m curious about the lack of huzzahs.

We were gushing over it at the GOG thread. It is a small masterpiece, in my opinion.

Everyone is already buried in other good news right now. Witvher 3, DiRT Rally, the release of Tron 2.0 on the classics rerelease front are still on the forefront of my mind. And there are other recent ones I’m forgetting because there’s too much good stuff right now. I do remember being intrigued by articles on Shadow Watch from years back, so I do want to check it out once I can finish the mountain of good stuff I’m playing right now.

For the record, I bought Shadow Watch when it was first released, with its funky multilayered box cover. I didn’t really play it much, though, and had since lost the box. I’m going to buy it soon, but I’m also swamped with good old games from everywhere I’ve accumulated for the past 2 years.

Since I’m here, Steam today is Fable Anniversary - $11.89 - 66% off. Not interested.

Ah, I forgot that I was in the Bargain Thread. :)

You guys aren’t making this an easy choice! So how many hours of poor parts are we talking about?

The problem with the Mexico part of the game is mostly its utter tonal incongruity with the rest of it. Basically, one second John Marston is doing missions for the Old Regime, then he starts doing them for the Revolutionaries, almost all of whom (on both sides) are terrible people. I can’t remember how many missions we’re talking about. The missions themselves are mostly fine, fun even, it’s the story around them that kind of sucks.

If there’s anyone left in the U.S. who hasn’t purchased XCOM and wants to buy it now, Amazon is selling everything XCOM for some huge discounts, something like 80% or so off regular price.

What do you expect when they’re all drug dealers and rapists?

Bundlestars is going to have a bunch of bundles this week. The first one isn’t too exciting. The RpgMaker program, a bunch of DLC for it, and something called GameGuru.

They’re also giving away a free Steam key for Skyborn.

Well, “free”. You have to have a facebook account.

I found Mexico in RDR enjoyable once I started reading it as a story of innocents getting caught up in the romance of revolution and discovering its harsh realities.

Greenmangaming has Sword Coast Legends pre-order $26.79 w/ code SAVE23-WITHGM-GSEP15

Evidently someone at Valve thinks it’s still 1991, since they refer to the developer as “Dan” Bunten.

Bundlestars has a package of RPG titles for $2.99. I’m tempted to get it for the Realms of Arcadia:Blade of Destiny remake and it’s DLC alone, provided someone can tell me if that game was ever fixed. It was released with a lot of problems, as I recall, and I’m wondering if it’s worth the time, since price is obviously not an issue.

It’s a good bundle. Etherlords 1 and 2 are good (if flawed). Wizardry 8 is HUGE and pretty interesting. And Blades of Time, while flawed and a bit clumsy, has some interesting ideas. For the asking price, if you don’t have those games, it’s certainly a good deal.

I could see that. In any case, none of my comments should be taken as a non-endorsement of the game. I loved it to bits and played it through (also the awesome Undead Nightmare DLC).

And to think I bought the Humble Retro Bundle just to get CHQ. I played it to death back in the day.

Well, he was Dan Bunten in 1991 when CHQ was released. He didn’t have a sex change until November 1992 when he became a she and was known thereafter as Danielle.

Faerie Solitaire is 95% off on Steam this week, that’s less than 50c.
