BundleStars.com has a new All Stars 4 Bundle that features a lot of pretty good games. $1.99 buys you 9 Steam games including:

[ul]
[li]Evoland (this is worth the $1.99 all by itself)[/li][li]Guacamelee! Super Turbo Championship Edition (same)[/li][li]Overture[/li][li]Sniper : Ghost Warrior 2[/li][li]PixelJunk Shooter[/li][li]PixelJunk Monsters Ultimate[/li][li]Survivalist (interesting sandbox tactical zombie survival game)[/li][li]GT Legends[/li][li]Letter Quest : Grimm’s Journey Remastered[/li][/ul]

That’s a really nice collection of indie games for $1.99. Evoland, Guacamelee, the PixleJunk games and Survivalist are all well recommended.

Thanks, that’s an excellent deal indeed! Only game I’ve played is Overture, which is pretty great.

GoG.com is running their “Winter Sale”, and Rebel Galaxy is 33% off ($13.39).
http://www.gog.com/game/rebel_galaxy

I’m too lazy to check the price history, but I think Rebel Galaxy was only 10% off for the Steam Autumn sale. My only concern with buying RG from GoG is that I’ve come to appreciate achievements, especially in open-ended games, and I’m guessing the achievements are better in Steam.

Re: The Bundle Star deal: I think GT Legends has also been highly recommended in the Qt3 racing-sim thread, and it’s one of the only racing games I’ve seen that includes a lot of classic cars (especially British cars). I’ve only driven a few laps in a Mini (using my XBox 360 controller), but it seemed to look and handle pretty well despite being an older game.

Ori and the Blind Forest is $10 on Xbox Live. But I’ve heard there’s a definitive edition coming out at some point, so I’m going to wait.

What makes the definitive edition so, uh, definitive? I’ve heard good things about this game, $10 might get me interested.

If you like platformers at all, Ori is one of the best there is. The sound and artwork is fantastic, and the gameplay is challenging without being too frustrating. I had a lot of fun with it.

Steam Thursday: Dreamfall Chapters - $11.99 - 60% off.
Book 4 released today. Only 1 book remains. From the makers of The Longest Journey.
Steam weekend #1: Besiege - $5.60? - 30% off. Early access.
3D Angry Birds + build your own crap for others to knock down.
Steam weekend #2: Bound by Flame - $5.99 - 80% off.
An RPG for people who have finished Witcher 3 and Fallout 4 and Pillars of Eternity etc., and finally have time to look at other RPGs.
The Game Awards 2015 sale
On sale (Thansgiving prices, I think):
- Axiom Verge – Call of Duty Advanced Warfare – Call of Duty Black Ops 3 – Cibele

 • CS: GO – Her Story – Life Is Strange – Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain
 • Mortal Kombat X – NBA 2K16 – PES 2016 – Pillars of Eternity
 • Rocket League – Sunset – Tales from the Borderlands – The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt

Not on sale:
- Assassin’s Creed Syndicate – Disney Infinity 3.0 – Fallout 4 – Undertale

 • Ori and the Blind Forest – Rise of the Incarnates
They wisely took Rise of Incarnates off the page since it’s being shut down in less than two weeks. I like to think the simple fact that it was nominated for any award at all speaks volumes about The Game Awards.

Shadow Complex Remastered free for a limited time on PC.

Requires EPIC account and game client.

Board game Sale again, this time individual games

A few highlights (rounding)
Both Ticket to Rides 30
X-Com 30
Tokaido (great game for those who don’t like nerdy/geek game, beautiful too) 23
Concept (terrible point system, great phone if you don’t care about points or come up with a home system) 22
Flash Point 20
Ascension 23

I was really tempted by Xcom but I already have five unplayed games on my shelf.

Hm. Well, I don’t like the idea that they might be trying to launch yet another company store, but I guess it’s hard to argue with free.

Looks to be a different group from the ones that were in the 2-for-1 sale. Any recommendations on games that would be appropriate for five year olds? I know I could read up on them at BGG, but I’m lazy looking for Qt3 insight.

It’s hard to do recommendations for kids because they vary wildly in patience and understanding, but Forbidden Island is a great gateway game. It’s coop, so you can help as much as you feel needed in the decision making, and it’s also relatively short so it’s not likely to cause kids to get antzy.

I have played Ticket to Ride with my kids when there were 6-7, but with heavily modified rules.

Flash Point is something we just started playing this year and may be a little complex for a 5 year old, but it’s also coop so you can control how much you help. Definitely stick with the introductory rules though.

Machi Koro is a pretty straightforward gateway style game, but it can run a little long, and I’m not sure how well a 5 year old will grasp what the different buildings do and which to buy.

It’s not listed in this sale, but my kids love Catan Junior and we started playing it with them around 5. It was the first non-memory game we played and they picked it up really quickly.

All the Monsters of Tokyo games are great for Kids. 2 Thumbs up. Also good for adults as well.

I had to resist ordering a second copy of Arena of the Planeswalkers for $18 and a copy of Samurai Spirit for $16. I’ve already bought far too many cheap tabletop games to go in on another sale.

I’ll second Catan Junior. My nephew is six, and my twin and I purchased this for him. My little sister, his mom, is relieve it’s a “real” game he can play and isn’t too bad for adults either, has a nice theme too.

Steam Friday: Strider - $4.94 - 67% off.
Fast paced hack/slash metroidvania. Well worth $5.
Over on GOG’s winter sale today, a few games caught my eyes:
Renowned Explorers - $11.99 - 40% off.
Terra Nova: Strike Force Centaur - $1.99 - 67% off. Warning: truly low-res.

New Humble Monthly is out. Not crap.

Banished, Payday 2, Rust, Neon Struct, Chroma Squad, and Company of Heroes 2 with 2 DLC packages.

After all these years, it’s still the best centaur sim ever made.

Edit: Hey, I loved this game! I still have my autographed copy. I was just amused by the typo.

First game to need a P60 cpu (Pentium) when I was running a 486dx100 at the time. Looked pretty good back then
