Steam says I own over 1400 games on there, and as I said, I only owned one and a half games in the current Humble Monthly, so yeah, the “only for people who don’t buy games” thing is a load of crap.

I only have a meager 579 games on Steam.
Banished - own
Payday 2 - own
Rust - own
Neon Struct - don’t own
Chroma Squad - don’t own
Company of Heroes 2 with 2 DLC packages - own, own, and own
Hooray for anecdotal data!!!

Its value is more limited the more games you have. That’s pretty straight forward. If you’re a person who cares significantly about optimal value, the term “only” might come into play with such an arrangement.

The funniest thing about monthly game delivery is you’ll never catch up. You’re just increasing your backlog.

The Steam Autumn Sale had it around that price and the Gold version with the DLC for 10.49. GoG doesn’t appear to have Gold, just separate DLC. I might be missing something though.

Damn, when did the simple Bargain Thread turn into the debate club. …mmhmmm…yeah. I said it.

Actually wasn’t being sarcastic, but I guess all of us have our own anecdotal data. :-)

Hey, there’s only 26 days left for the thread, might as well kick stuff around.

FWIW, I might let the HBM ride one more month, but I have a soft spot for the “game of the month” style from PS+ and XBL Gold, probably because I’m not inclined to go too far out on a limb with my new game purchases and wouldn’t be exposed to some stuff otherwise. And 12 bucks won’t crimp my budget.

I’ve certainly been getting better deals from the Humble Monthly so far than I have from the last several months of PS+, and I actually get to keep these games if I cancel, unlike PS+ freebies and the Xbox One side of XBL Gold freebies. I also still get giftable keys for games I already own, so those aren’t worthless, unlike how that stuff works on those other services - if I want to give someone my spare copy of Payday 2 or Lethal League, I can just go ahead and do that (and, as an added bonus, I now have another person for multiplayer), whereas Freedom Wars on PS+ just acts as a wasted game slot for the month.

Nope.

It’s more of a hidden object game crossed with an economic simulator (ie. you need bread, but you need to get flour and eggs from the baker / farm who may request wood first, etc)

It is actually quite enjoyable. HotK 2 is also great. I definitely recommend if you like something relaxing.

Yeah, I’m sure there are people out there who will really hate the Hero of the Kingdom games, but if you know what you’re getting into and you can appreciate a laid-back game of searching, collecting, and navigating around, I think they’re very enjoyable.

Like any hidden object game really, they can be good to wind down with. I played a bunch last year, but they become quite formulaic quickly. HotK looks like it does something interesting with the mechanic, I’ll give it a shot.

Not exactly a hidden object game, either. It’s a simple idea, but kind of unique. Basically the game is made up of a series of scenes like this:

Your character never appears, although you direct him with your mouse to interact with objects, creatures, or people in the scene. Most characters and objects have icons on them showing they can be interacted with; the hidden-objecty part is that some common objects (mushrooms and eggs, etc you can gather) are not called out, you just have to find them in every screen.

Most interactions require you to use a resources to get a different one. A fishing spot requires you to have a fishing pole and consumes bait and energy (which you get by spending food at a campsite) to get you fish. Characters will ask you to bring them back resources or a quest item from other screens. Eventually you get into a big long quest chain that requires resource gathering on the side to move along it. So yeah. A bit hidden object, a bit WoW questing, a bit crafting.

The story is pretty run of the mill medieval adventure with some light fantasy elements. For being bog-standard, it’s reasonably easy to enjoy because it meets its modest goals.

Brown color eye test. I’ll pass.

New Humble Bundle has a TON of NeoGeo games. Any comments?

Bad controls, DotEmu (buyer beware with them)

I’d suggest waiting for steam versions- though SamSho V Special is a truly unknown gem.

It must be Blast from the Past week or something, as BundleStars.com has a new Killer Bundle Six live with “41 games for $4.99”. 32 of those 41 games are in the 3D Realms Anthology - Steam Edition, which leaves 9 other actual Steam games:
