Kind of sucks that everyone is starting on Thanksgiving day itself, but hey, at least this year, as discussed above, I’m free on Thanksgiving.

If you have never before gone to a store on Black Friday, for the love of God reconsider this terrible plan.

It really isn’t that bad on Black Friday nor is it that bad on Thursday if you want videogames or hardware. You may have to wait in line a little while to check out, but when you can get the prices they offer only on that day it usually is worth it, especially if you have kids and want to make your Christmas money go the furthest.

Sure, you’re going to have problems getting the $150 50" TV, but people with any interest in quality at all don’t want that TV anyway.

Also, the deals are typically the same online for these retailers so you may be able to purchase there and never go to a store. I did that with Best Buy last year.

Or, even better, check your credit card’s price protection policy. Buy now before the rush begins, grab a copy/screenshot of the Black Friday offer, and submit it to your CC to refund the difference. I know Discover has been pretty free and easy about this when it comes to BF deals in the past.

Don’t they always have artificial scarcity for these games so if you’re not there early enough you’re wasting your time?

No. That’s really not the case in my experience. It’s a misconception brought on by fake news!

Seriously though, there are limited quantities of anything on a huge shopping day like this, but I really have never been denied that I can remember, especially with the likes of a Battlefield 1. The stuff that’s really limited are the doorbusters like the TV I described above. I have gone shopping on Thursday/Friday/Saturday for the last ten or fifteen years at least. The things I missed out on were always the much larger items.

Last year I ordered from Best Buy Online and never even left the house on Thursday and only went on Friday to clean up a few things from other stores. The ads where they note quantites are limited specifically on an item are the ones you should heed. There will be a lower number of that item.

What’s the general feeling about a PS4 Pro deal during the holiday? It’s so recent I don’t expect any discounts, but maybe some bundles games? I’m not seeing anything in the ads, so I guess the only chance is if Amazon breaks out a a deal at the last minute.

Bundles and some stores might add a + some gift card number to them. Fred Meyer tends to do that on occasion.

Klei Publisher Weekend on Steam–finally gives me a chance to pick up the Contingency Plan DLC for Invisible Inc, and the soundtrack as well.

BTW, is the DLC for Mark of the Ninja worth bothering with?

Best Buy’s turn to get in on the Titanfall price slashing: http://www.bestbuy.com/site/promo/save-on-titanfall-20161118

$33 for all platforms (including PC, finally). The $30 for 2 year Gamers Club membership knocks another 20% off.

Thanks for the tip. Not that I need more to play, but ordered anyway!

Hitman 2016 is 50% off right now on Steam. Buy it.

I got an email today notifying me that GMG’s Black Friday sale starts Monday and runs through the 28th. Use code BLACKFRIDAY10, but I don’t know if that’s for additional discounts beyond the sale, or just the sale itself.

is there any microsoft store (online) sale for gears of war 4 playanywhere?

Yes, $37.

Today only!

Damnit I paid 100% not that long ago. Everyone do it, such a great game!

Quick question for those who have the Invisible Inc. soundtrack: do they come as MP3s or what?
The reason I ask is that the store page says it “requires Invisible Inc. on Steam to play.” I own the game, but I want to be able to put the tracks on my iPod.

I haven’t played it, so I can’t be as unequivocal as TurinTur about the quality, but it’s also on sale on Xbox LIve. So Gold members can pick it up for $30 right now, and everyone else will be able to do so next Friday (no Gold required).

I’ve never played a Hitman game. Is this as much fun as Alpha Protocol?
