I think it’s tomorrow.

Guess we’ll know in about an hour. . .

Thanksgiving sale is disappointing every year. Don’t get your hopes up, kids.

Um, not really? I picked up maybe 10 or 12 games/DLC last year. Perhaps for you it’s disappointing.

YOU’RE NOT MY REAL DAD

(quietly, in non-caps: fuck you, discourse)

Last year I bought more stuff during the thanksgiving sale than the Christmas sale, and the prices for those items weren’t better during the Christmas sale

Yeah, the decline of discounts has made all the sales pretty much equal.

That’s kind of a bad statement, it may well be you weren’t personally pleased with the discounts, but the truth is nearly every game was cheaper than it is when it’s not on sale, and compared to consoles and hand held sales that’s always a bonus. In any case, any % off from the base cost of a game is saving money, if it’s a game you already wanted especially. If your point is “nothing I was partially interested in was cheap enough to make it worth grabbing” than yeah, I can see how the sale was disappointing to you. But I saw almost my entire wishlist (over 90 items) was 50% or more off. I’m not sure what more you could reasonably expect?

I’ve personally felt that steam sales became significantly worse ever since they removed flash sales. We traded quality for reliability.

Other sites still have good deals sometimes though. GMG has a few good ones including deathwing and maybe Mafia 3 assuming it is actually good. Then of course cdkey.com

The strange world we live in today… I’ve noticed I get better deals on boxed copies of games on Amazon. I mean I just got the Division for $10, the latest expansion of Starcraft 2 for $18, and a few weeks ago I got Homefront the Revolution for $16. None of these games have had their digital prices come close yet.

I actually have my amazon wishlist filled with box copies of games I want, just to watch for deals.

:D

Yeah, physical products seem to be the hot ticket for sales in 2016.

I believe we established that the Thanksgiving and Christmas sales were the same at Steam last year. Anyway, I’m not getting my hopes up.

I definitely agree with this, I really miss the daily sales. I mean, it’s nice to know starting at zero hour what you may want to pick up and what is still too pricey, but the entire sale might as well just run for a day now. Super boring.

That said, it always sucked to have 3 or 4 games on a short list you wanted to pick up (like Inside) and every time said games are NOT on the daily sale is another day you can’t grab them and play them. :(

Nope, today. In 30 minutes no less! :)

When is the Steam Sale?

I think it was the change to the return policy that did changed the steam sales. I kind of wish they would change the return policy for sales periods and bring back the chaos…

I don’t use it much but the Steam Link is a fanstastic little product. The games don’t even have to be Steam games as long as you make a shortcut through steam you can steam games from GOG at least (not sure about other games with overlays).

Can’t wait! :D

Life is Strange, Complete season 1… is 99 cents. Price mistake?

I’m actually curious now it the slooooow rollout of correct prices across the site is some sort of load balancing thing or what.

I see $4.99 for the series.
