Yeah it was a price mistake. :(

Has anyone played Slime Rancher? It is on sale and on my wishlist, however, it is early access. I just want to know how complete it is or if its something a long way from being finished.
Mostly crap for me. Doom is $20 again. Maybe I’ll finally give in.

Steam sale is live. Most of the stuff on my wish list isn’t marked down, and most of what is is still Early Access. That said, I’m leaning towards Tempest for $10.
Any thoughts from those who’ve played it?
I also still need to check out cdkeys.com and see what I can find there.

The previous best price for Doom on Steam was $30, so it’s actually a pretty significant decrease. I’m certainly grabbing it at this price.
Oh okay, I thought for sure I remember $20.
I’m also tempted to buy Arkham Knight ($15, and slightly cheaper elsewhere). I swore off Batman games but I always wanted to try one with a gamepad to compare. Just curious.

For those disappointed so far, keep checking throughout the day. I just took another look at my wish list to find several more titles on sale that weren’t a few minutes ago - including Anno 2205 for $20.

While I did not plan on Planet Coaster being on sale there are a number of games with either no or underwhelming discounts. Most games that I was looking for have had steeper discounts in the past (like War of the Overworld or Flight Simulator) and some games have no discount even though they have been discounted in the past. The air has gone out of the balloon.
I miss the Flash sales, although I agree that having them cycle every six hours was a bit much. Eight hours was fine though (it helped that I’m in the Pacific time zone).

All three of those (Fire Emblem, Yggdra Union, and Tactics Ogre) were explicitly on my mind as examples of what I’d put above FFT. Besides that, Gladius would be my highest recommendation (full of great, unique ideas), and Shin Megami Tensei: Devil Survivor is also well worth checking out.
And if you switch from a narrow definition of TRPG (“game whose primary influences trace back to Famicom titles like Fire Emblem and Bokosuka Wars”) to a broad one (“game where your primary activities are a mix of tactical maneuvering and RPG-style character development”), you could also include some mix of Elven Legacy, XCOM (which actually is available on mobile), Jagged Alliance, Fallout Tactics, Freedom Force, Silent Storm, Massive Chalice, King’s Bounty, Valkyria Chronicles, and Ogre Battle.

Thanks for the heads up. You would think they would have all their sale pricing in before they started the sale. I have been waiting for Anno 2205 to go on sale. Is any of the DLC worth it? Everything has such negative reviews, I presume most of which are from the season pass fiasco.
I guess I need to try Gladius then!
(I beat Devil survivor and got all endings. Great game, but the heavy de-emphasis on terrain of any kind was a little bit of a disappointment. Farming -and choosing- good demons became more important than battlefield tactics)
Not sure if I’ll buy anything. Maybe Homefront Revolution on Steam, but Shadow Warrior 2 has satiated my need for shooters, so it’s a big maybe.
Nuuvem is also having a sale, and I might get the Anno 2205 Gold Edition from there. It’s the only recent Anno I don’t have, and I know it can’t be better than 2070, but I want to try it at some point. Just not sure it will be now. We’ll see.
In the steam sale, I do have some good bargains, while others hardly have a sale at all. Like a couple of racing games I was keeping an eye on, like that Wipeout clone that Tom streamed about a month or two ago, it’s on sale, but not much of a sale. Same with Dark Souls III, it’s on sale for $39, which is very disappoint compared to the console version, which will be on sale for $15 at Walmart tomorrow, for instance. Then there’s games like Space Run, that are on sale for 75% off ($4 or thereabouts), which look cool and make me wonder “how did this get on my wishlist? Someone at Qt3 must have made a passionate case for it!”
Jeeze guys, no love for Disgaea???
Which, coincidentally, is on sale now!

IIRC, the Fall sale had a smaller selection than Winter last year (but for a game in the Fall sale the discounts were the same percentage across both).
There is a definite move toward getting much better savings by buying physical discs. Can you imagine if Microsoft had pulled off an all-digital Xbox One? You think you’re bitching about digital sales now?!

Gladius
I’ve heard good thing about Gladius. Sadly it never materialized on PC :(

I had a copy on Gamecube. Played it for a while, but never did finish. Don’t think I got particularly far either, but the attack implementation had a nice active component to it, in that it was non horrible QTEs basically.
This is me as well, though to be fair much of what I’m most excited for just came out recently, like Ashes Escalation and House of the Dying Sun. More of what I realized I wanted either just came out or is in early access (like Rim World. Heh. That’s on me though, there are some other great deals out there… just for games I already own. :)
