I chose not to get Fallout 4 yesterday for $15 at Amazon. I just don’t have time for it. Hopefully it will be that price or cheaper for XB1 again.

The one game I didn’t see on sale at all for XB1 again this year was Minecraft. I’m still on the lookout for a deal on that.

Fans of S-RPG’s rejoice! The mobile versions of Final Fantasy Tactics are 70% off until November 30th.

Game.co.uk has Dragon Age Inquisition GOTY for 5 pounds.

That’s a tremendous deal, but is it UK only? Does Origin have region restrictions?

If it does I’ll have egg all over my face, since I’m not in the UK.

I should have my key in a few minutes, I’ll let you know if it works for me…

Yeah be careful about that. Origin has started to put up a wall between NA and UK regions for the first time semi recently on a couple games.

I noticed on Xbox One that there’s additional games for sale over the weekend that weren’t part of the sale during the rest of the week.

I’ve never seen Just Cause 3 so cheap before. $9 at cdkeys.com. I’ve never really been able to get into JC2.

Probably won’t like 3 then. Shame they don’t have the season pass!

So what do you reckon: Just Cause 3 or Mad Max? They both seem to tread a fair bit of the same ground.

I loved JC2, by the way.

Mad Max is awesome and I have played a few dozen hours of it versus maybe 6 of Just Cause 3. The setting is a lot more memorable and the game’s a lot better about providing objectives and cool things to discover. If you just wanna wreck shit, though, JC3 certainly lets you do that. As long as you never, ever alt-tab.

Most people here would say Mad Max, possibly thanks to the much-maligned skill progression system in JC3.

But not me. :) JC2 is one of my all time favourites, and while JC3 isn’t as good as that I did enjoy it more than I did Mad Max. Raining destruction by land, sea, and sky is the business. And the guy doing the Di Ravello voice-over for the tapes you collect is hilarious. Also David Tennant as the captive news broadcaster. :)

JC3 runs great in borderless window, so you can alt-tab as much as you like!

Mostly thanks to Mad Max being way more memorable with its world building and more structured with its objectives.

And alt-tabbing somehow breaks its ability to capture the mouse which is a really bad thing in an action game.

Yeah it’s probably a better game, JC3 is a great toybox though. Never noticed the mouse thing since I use the controller.

I’d go Mad Max for sure - it’s got Chumbucket! It can suffer from the repetition of open world games, but much of that repetition can be skipped if you want.

But if you loved JC2, then I’m not sure what you’d like more.

I loved JC2. I had a tough time getting into JC3, thanks to the loading times on retrying the skill challenges. If you do end up getting it, I’d recommend having a second game handy that you play on the phone, just so you have something to do while it reloads so you can try a 30 second challenge again. (Also, if I do play it again, I imagine I’ll install it to a SSD this time).

Mad Max, on the other hand, I found very charming. Though I did get distracted by Titan Quest anniversary and then Grim Dawn, so I didn’t make it very far. But what I’d played so far was very good. Plus it’s by the same team that did JC2. While JC3 is by Avalanche’s new U.S. studio.

Thanks for the replies. JC3 does look very much like JC2 with better graphics, which isn’t necessarily a bad thing, but I’ll give Mad Max a shot and keep JC3 on the wishlist.

Wow, I was in impulse purchase mode reading that… when I checked on Bundlestars “This product will NOT activate in the following regions : Japan”. I checked on Steam, and sure enough, the game is on sale 40% off, for 40 bucks, down from the retail online price of 70… There is a store front worse than Australia’s.

You’re Aussie, you never had a choice.

BTW, Mad Max is excellent.

I’ve finally got the key, and added it to my Origin account. Worked OK. But I’m in Continental Europe, so, results may differ…

Still, 5 pounds is cheap as hell, and I’m sure even if it doesn’t work you’ll be able to trade it for something…
