Halloween Sale is always more narrow in focus. Usually “scary” games or games that contain monsters or some such thing that can be associated (albeit loosely) with the holiday.
Thanksgiving Sale will be more encompassing. Followed by the Winter Sale which will have many of the same deals as Thanksgiving but with a few additional titles and some steeper discounts on select games.
I agree with you wholeheartedly. If memory serves, the Thanksgiving sale is a little bigger, kind of like a trial run for them for Christmas.

Only summer and xmas sales are any good, and they suck in recent years too. Steam sales were much better when they had timed flash sales.
You say that, but you had to put in the work to stay on top of the flash sales. And that rarely ever worked out for me.
So you’ve said, here, often!
We get it! It’s all shite since Roy Orbison died. ;)

I think the email maxes out at 25. When I went and looked at my wishlist I had around 40.
25 on my list on sale as well. From the actual list, not the email, out of my wishlist of 69 titles.
But some of these are really weak sales. 25% off hardly counts as a sale, right? Stupid Distant Worlds Universe, I should remove that from my wish list.

3 on sale. I guess I don’t wish very much.
Black Mesa for $7.99 is really calling out to me. I’m not sure why.
Has anyone here played it? Where does it land on a 5 star scale for you?
Six. What’s Black Mesa?
Edit: whoa, really? A fan remake of Half Life and Valve is ok with this? Heck, think I’ll buy it.
One game I didn’t see mentioned on the GOG sale above is Shadow Warrior 2 which is 60% off ($15.99).
And Eador Imperium is 60% off on Steam ($7.99).
Amazing price on an amazing game. Don’t let the bullshit inventory system dissuade you, it’s so fun.
There are way more games on sale than Steam is making out. Many of them not that horror-related. Baldur’s Gate Siege of Dragonspear is 50% off, for example, and that’s just RPG DLC.
Agreed. The Steam sale officially blows. Everything on my wishlist is $20. Doom, Tyranny, Witcher 3, Torment, Dying Light… If this was 2 or 3 years ago, they’d all be $10 now. Garbage.
