I mean, sure, but that’s all true if you pay full price or wait for a better price too. anyway. I wasn’t really expecting an explanation that made sense to me and I don’t want to disrupt the thread any further.
It’s really rare that I care enough to buy a game at release, but when I do the price won’t be the deciding factor. If I’m waiting anyway, though, then I usually wait long enough for the big discounts, 75% or whatever. I figure if I waited already, why not get the best deal?

Maybe 20% on one $60 game isn’t super significant, but what about 20% on 5 $60 games for the year, or 10 games? Then you’re getting a free game or 2.
I mean spending $60 on something when you used to be able to spend $48 never feels great. Even when I had more money it didn’t mean I just wanted to throw it away.

And these days, 60 dollars can just ab an “entry” point for these games.
Try to stick with the best advice given many years ago.
Hell, I’m pretty sure I paid more than $20 for Monkey Island.
People…FFS, it’s the Bargain Thread, not the Argue About What Constitutes A Bargain Thread.
So in light of that:
Very good bundle!
- $1 for Ticket to Ride Complete (plus Android version), Mysterium (plus Android) and Sentinels of the Multiverse?! Crazy!
- BTA (under $6) and receive Pathfinder Adventures, Carcassonne, Talisman + 2 DLC (and Android versions), and Sentinels DLC
- Pay $10, (or $8 if you’re a monthly subscriber) and unlock Armello, which I can personally say is WELL worth $10, even as a single player game.
Meanwhile, over at Fanatical, Warhammer 40K : Armageddon is a ridiculous $5.99 (85%) as the Star Deal today.
They also have a Fully Loaded 5 Bundle for $1.99 that includes 10 eclectic, casual and downright odd Steam games.
Steam has For The King at $13.39 (33%) for MidWeek Madness. I can’t help but feel like this one is a contender for an upcoming Humble Monthly though, as it’s been discounted frequently lately and would fit the Humble Monthly mold pretty well.
The Far Cry Franchise is also on sale for MidWeek Madness. 60% off everything, except Far Cry 5, which is $40.19 (33%).
I got really excited for a second. Then I realized it was wasn’t really a tabletop bundle, but digital versions of tabletop games.
Only on Wednesday’s after bingo at the KoC Hall.
=)
If you have the T-Mobile Tuesdays app today’s offer is a free year of Pandora Plus. It’s not a game but this seems to be the only active bargain thread.
Bringing this over from the hardware bargain thread, where there isn’t much activity usually…
Lots of good, cheap wargames in the past week or so
That’s one hell of a deal. Sadly…

Because I use 'em every damn time and you might want to too, eBay has another 15% off ANYTHING coupon today. You can buy from multiple sellers, etc. You’ll get a max of $100 savings.
PREGAME15 at checkout. You’ll have to do Buy It Now or Make Offer or be lucky enough to have an auction you want that’s ending today. These coupons are fantastic for retro games where you’re always fighting the escalating prices and availability. I typically buy stuff from Japan with them and save a bundle over US carts.
Ends at 10PM Pacific time.
Age of Decadence is currently $5 at GoG, which was my trigger point for it.
So I’m travelling in Indonesia & fired up Steam without a VPN and the prices are in local IDR…hadn’t done this on my previous visits as never had a laptop to game on and was mostly too busy anyway.
Well sh#t For the King would be less than US $4. I looked around and most games I looked at are CHEAP. Basic, undiscounted Battletech would be roughly US $8.50 for example. Rimworld & Factorio which are never on sale are both less than US$7.
I checked Gamersgate which also does local pricing and while it’s not quite as good, it’s still ok, which is the same as I find in NZ with regards to Steam v other retailers. Picked up Dominions 5 for US $8.13 which I think is pretty cheap.
So if you know anyone in Indonesia, get them signed up to Steam and gifting! Or create a new Steam account With a vpn I guess…Gamersgate lets you use your own account however.
Edited for conversion f#ck ups
I think this VPN trickery gets you banned from Steam.
In this case, he’s actually in Indonesia. Hang on to your plane tickets, @UtilityDogAK, in case you need to send it to Valve to prove you were actually there.
