Same here. Who knows whether it can even be installed on a 64-bit version of Windows. Did it have a 16 or 32-bit installer, I wonder?

Tried on Windows 10, can confirm the installer does not run.

Most likely you’d have to install and run it in a Win 98 VM, I’m thinking.

@J_Thomas Someone on the Infinite Interactive boards claims to have done it…

Just installed WL3 DLR on Win 10 32 bit, Used the patches from Warlorder and the -wincursor in a shortcut.

Works great.

I do remember the “-wincursor” thing being a problem even on XP. The funky cursors the game used cause that problem and must be turned off. I’ll see if I can try it tomorrow night. I won’t have time tonight.

I tried on Win 10 64-bit. Didn’t know there was a 32-bit version of Windows 10, but sounds like it could solve compatibility issues with some older games then.

Well it’s obvious from the responses in this thread alone that someone at Ubisoft (or wherever the rights now reside) should take a stab at remaking Warlords 3 : Dark Lords Rising as an “Enhanced Edition” or “HD” remaster, maybe with some UI tweaks for modernization. Seems like it would sell well priced at $20, similar to the “Age of” remasters and some other older classics that have been repackaged. I’d buy it.

Speaking of buying stuff, since this is the Bargain Thread…

What I’ve played of Halcyon 6 has been fun, too.

Humble Bundle has recently announced a horror themed bundle:

“Inside” has me intrigued and tempted.

It’s a very good game!

I have Inside because it was recently part of Games with Gold.

I haven’t heard of any of the others in that bundle though. Any other gems in there?

Darkwood!

I have never played ESO, but always wanted to go back to Morrowind. Is the ESO version of Morrowind simply an updating of the original? Can you solo pretty well there? I have no desire to play with others.

Reminder, Inside will be free on the Epic store tomorrow.

ESO is set hundreds of years before any of the ES series proper. Their version of Morrowind obviously makes a point to provide fan service for people who loved the original game, but it’s a new story and the only characters that are shared between the two are the gods, as they’re immortal. Everything is much newer. Vivec City is in the middle of construction, for example.

Also, all storyline/quest-relevant content is soloable throughout all of ESO. The group dungeons (and I assume whatever they call raids) do have their own narrative content (and usually a quest inside them) but they don’t directly connect to zone content and you don’t have to do them to follow storylines to their conclusions like you do in FFXIV and some parts of WoW.

Thanks. I would try the free weekend, except I’m away the entire weekend :(

I have Butcher and like it quite a bit, although it is quite hard. It is worth a dollar beyond doubt.

Humble has their end of summer sale going on! Along with a rewards thing for spending up to $50.
