One of my frustrations with Pillars of Eternity is that an awful lot is ‘going on’ - far too much to comprehend - but very little actually happens.

The 1st Pillars is a good game but after playing the 2nd, there’s no going back for me. Tyranny was a story-telling twist that Obsidian hoped would take the Pillars foundation to the next level. The problem is, it’s the mechanics that needed fixing not the story and Pillars 2 showed exactly that. In my book, it’s currently trading blows with Kingmaker for the title of BG2 spiritual successor.

Very nice price on the All Stars 13 Bundle at Fanatical. $1.99 buys you Steam keys for:

  • Styx : Master of Shadows
  • Sniper : Ghost Warrior Trilogy (ever-present reminder that Trilogy doesn’t actually contain S:GW 3)
  • Overlord : Ultimate Evil Collection (all 4 Overlord titles)
  • Guilty Gear X2 Reload
  • Narcos : Rise of the Cartels
  • American Fugitive
  • V-Rally 4

Survival Horror game Dreadout 2 is the Star Deal this weekend at $8.99 (55%).

GreenManGaming has some nice deals for the weekend:

Humble is giving away “Seven Enhanced Edition” in the store.

You need a link a GOG account for this one.

Cool! That’s even on my wishlist. So, I redeemed it, I can see it in my GOG library, but… GOG Galaxy doesn’t seem to work anymore (I can’t log in, and I know my password is correct because I can log in to the website). Tried uninstalling, and re-downloading and installing GOG Galaxy, no luck, doesn’t work.

Also can’t seem to find any download link for the game on the GOG site without using Galaxy? I thought it was optional? Are they just obscuring the link to make you use Galaxy?

Edit, ok, I did find the download links, nvm. Two different install files…?

Hmm ok launched GOG galaxy, looks like it hasn’t updated since July 30th? That can’t be right. How do I force it to update?

Enable beta features.

it is… :|

Maybe I should just re-download the client?

It heard me!

Just wait a few minutes and the prompt will appear. At least that’s what happened for me.

@Mr_Bismarck noted in the PGA Tour 2k21 thread that if you signed up for the free Stadia Pro trial earlier this year you likely have a $10 coupon in your account. I do, and he also noted that PGA Tour 2k21 is on sale for $10.79, making it apparently $0.79 after coupon. He did not note that Zombie Army 4: Dead War Deluxe Edition is also $10.79, and now I have a choice as to which Stadia game I want to pay less than a dollar for…

This sale apparently ends on the 11th, so get cracking.

I finally got my free copy of Seven installed, played it for about three minutes and… um, I’m glad I didn’t pay for it. It’s like, “what if Shadow Tactics was terrible, and confusing, and the controls were indecipherable?” First mission, you’re supposed to sneak into a mansion, but there are like 50 guards? Who can all see each other at all times? Ok, g’night.

It does get better after that. But the controls don’t.

Fanatical has a holiday bundle with 24 games at 1 for $1, 5 for $3, or 10 for $5. I’m going to grab Mana Spark, Mytheon, Precipice, Streets of Red, and System Crash. Some notable games: Furious Angels, Remnants of Naezith, Unity of Command, XIII classic.

That’s a neat bundle. I really enjoyed Spectrum Retreat. It’s a walking simulator with a handful of Portal-type puzzles. ~5 hours long.

Yeah, I already had it and played it for over an hour and decided that was all I needed to see.

Age of Wonders: Planetfall Premium Edition is 13.49 on Indiegala, the lowest it’s ever been according to isthereanydeal.com. I already own it on Xbox, but for that price I got the Steam copy.

That’s a great price. Base game is 7.49 - but buy the premium instead. I’m tempted to buy it again just for the DLC… those are like 30$ on sale.

So today Steam has Jurassic World Evolution at a deep discount. The internet says it’ll likely be free on Epic next week. I haven’t seen a big list this time, but Darkest Dungeon was also mentioned.

Me too, but there is a rule in my world, we’re not allowed to buy ourselves post Thanksgiving. It prevents people buying gifts others have bought them. Heh. It works pretty well actually. My buying fun reasonably priced things are done until 12/25.

Woah. Forgot all about Epic. I should grab this week’s free games. Thanks!

Ubisoft Connect is copying Epic’s $10 off $14.99+ coupons at the moment. To get the coupon you just have to download and try Hyperscape, then click a button in the app. Coupons are good through the end of January.
