It’s not an open World game.

As a matter of fact, I came back to this thread today for some suggestions because I feel like I’m back in the 90’s where I hit a dead end with a level and just can’t continue, because I don’t have any $%^ing saves, or a way to go somewhere else to “level up” to see if I can do it then.

I’m in the Armory in the Museum, and absolutely can’t beat the last 3 guys without them killing the hostage. But I can’t leave the level(I get a “they will die” message) to try something else first. I can’t save mid level to make things easier, even though finding a Riddler trophy usually saves my game.

I’ve looked at a walkthru which suggests sneaking up on them, really helpful, since I do that every level but the things I do there do not work here with the headlamps and heartrate monitors.

Thoughts, before I find another game to occupy my time?

Stealth sections are always a bit of a pain. Can’t you just wait until they walk around and become isolated?

I was able to get 3 that way, but the others do not seem to enter good ambushing areas…

It is absolutely an open world game. There are also lots of linear missions you can undertake in that open world, just like there are linear missions in Grand Theft Auto, Red Dead Redemption, Just Cause 2, Far Cry 2, Red Faction: Guerrilla, or any other open world game I can think of right now.

As to your specific concern, I’m sorry I don’t remember that point in the game. I played years ago and haven’t replayed it since, so I don’t remember how I got past it, or what the situation was, specifically.

Are 2 of them on the center ‘bridge’ like walkway? I recall having to corner cover then sneak behind the one as his back was turned, then sneak behind the other. I think there were only 2 left in the armory when they took hostages, I forget.

I have not played those, but I have played both Skyrim and Amalur, and in those open world games, you can abandon quests if they are too tough for you and go elsewhere. You can’t in this game. And due to lack of save anywhere, you can’t even try things differently.

For example, one walkthru says I should have found Mr Freeze before I hit this room, however, I didn’t, but I can’t even go back to do that until I beat it, and perhaps if that leveled me, I would have gotten a gadget or something to make this easier…

The best I have done was 3 out of six before dying, and yes, two are on the bridge.

IIRC they only kill the hostage if the guy holding him sees you. I just watched a video of that part of the game to refresh my memory and I don’t see any particular trick to it… Use the gargoyles and when the guard with hostage is facing away from you, swoop down behind him, take him out and then go hide again. The rest of it seemed like pretty standard stealth room stuff.

The stealth rooms were my favourite parts in the Arkham games.

Interesting. The current rumor is that Rocksteady is working on a Superman game. I still don’t think it sounds like a good idea, even from Rocksteady.

Amazing numbers from my least favorite game in the series.

Nice. That’s my favorite one in the series.

I’m ready for another one of these Batman games! I loved them all.

They really do need a new one out, perhaps with the Shadow of Mordor Nemesis System incorporated.

And finally news soon!

The reveal will take place on Aug. 22 at 1:30 p.m. ET / 10:30 a.m. PT

Why do you post that in this thread? Wouldn’t it be more at home in the Arkham Origins thread, since that was their last game?

Edit: I see, the game thread we did have was kind of confusingly named:

Anyone try to play any of this series on Steamdeck? If so, how well does it run?
