Dunno, LAN matches maybe?

I barely remember it, because the last time I played was… 11 weeks ago. :P

But Hunty is still better than me, and there a few more in the qt3 group with better scores.

Finally the patch… Can’t wait to play when I get home, and hopefully not get frustrated in the process

Geez 59.95 AUD for that “all unlocks” shortcut on PS3 is $62 us!

I’ve been knee-deep in a combination of work, Masters and Mass Effect lately so I’ve barely played for a few weeks either. I’m sure I’ll come back to it soon though, if only because it’s the default game for my buddies. Depends if we get a few new maps. You know, that aren’t cramped, tedious killboxes that completely miss the point of the franchise.

I thought it was ridiculous too, but then I did the math. It’s taken me 100 hours to unlock everything; if I had worked those hours instead of spent them playing BF3, well, it comes out to a lot more than $60!

Well, if you consider playing 100 hours of BF3 as “work” and not “playing BF3”, then sure it’s cheap!

Part of the joy of the game was replaying my favorite maps over and over, and also achieving a level of dominance I’d only reach after all that time spent practicing. But there’s something to be said for jumping right into the best weapons and perks based on the metagame, especially if you just want to dabble and quit.

I really liked chasing the unlocks, they helped push me to really get into the game at the beginning, and particularly the vehicles.

Oh yeah I almost forgot about that. I’ve said before how it felt like an RPG-shooter to me. Scary to think about. I’d better stay away from achievement metagames and MMOs.

I think they went overboard with the unlocks, but the game was fun from day 1, so it wasn’t an important issue.

I liked the unlocks and with only a couple of exceptions, I felt they did a decent job of making sure the default weapons weren’t too badly outmatched by the unlocks. A guy that starts out now with nothing will still be able to tear shit up and have a good time.

With this patch tank mines are finally useful again! Hooray

It’s already on Origin.

Now it’s going to be much easier take down those damm airplanes/choppers.

How is it easier? The group I bf3 with thought it was a buff to choppers.

You don’t lose lock when they shoot flares anymore, so AA missiles are going to be much easier to hit with.

Which is bullshit considering how hard it is to keep a helicopter in the air. Jets can easily avoid a lock-on in the first place now that the Below Radar perk works on Stingers and IGLA’s too.

I Never really have a hard time with AA in a chopper, well see how it is now post patch. but I can’t go 10 minutes in one lately without some dipshit crashing into me with a jet.

Does Below Radar actually work now? I have not played any BF3 in a couple months but back when I played did not really notice a difference.
