The maps are a bit bland visually (at least from the creative standpoint, they still looks nice!), all brown and with the already known middle east motif, and samey (they don’t have the variety of AK, and being honest I still have problems differentiating between them).

Gameplay wise they are nice, imagine a mix between Back to Karkand (big, urban, balanced, and brown), Close Quarters (because they are more designed for infantry, with big complicated interiors where to fight, without bottlenecks), and maybe a bit of maps like Grand Bazaar or Canals.

Yeah, they are a bit of the same old middle east brown setting, though the map design is quite good.

If I like Battlefield 3, it’s because the rewarding teamplay and cooperation, the great sense of immersion, the tactics you have to apply on the fly while changing the whole strategy of your team and… uh… pfft bwah hah-hah!

/takes USAS-12, runs like a madman while laughing, wins 4 MVP in the new maps consecutively.

Really liked the maps, but haven’t played in months. Got killed by a bunch of guys ranked Colonel 100. If you know how insane it is just to level up one colonel rank, that’s a terrifying number to hit Colonel 100. Basically playing nonstop for months and months and months.

I read on SA about no-kill XP farming servers. I assume most Colonel 100s are abusing those servers because I can’t imagine getting there honestly.

I love the new maps and scavenger mode is amazingly fun.

Just me, but I don’t like the new maps very much, scavenger mode is sorta meh, and the unlocks for the crossbow seem hard to get.

The maps are really a let down from the awesome CC and AK maps.

I was not aware there was a RUSH version of them. I only did scavenger on them all. And conquest on the monolith one.

I will give them a second chance, I think the game mode might have turned me off a bit.

But I’d would prefer more maps that are dense American / European cities and not already destroyed.

Man, I like the new maps of Aftermath, but they have a hard visibility! All is brown/orange/yellow and the more “wasted” skins of the soldiers blends in very well there.

I’m one of those guys that barely plays anything else than 24/7 Conquest 500+tickets but scavenger mode is so much fun! Seriously anyone that isn’t playing it is really missing out.

I thought scavenger worked like this:

everyone starts with crap pistols, then you find very few weapons hidden in corners of the map, hard to find and changing spawn points every time the map is re-run. Then whoever kills the guy with the gun can grab the gun for himself. No gun respawns at all during a session.

It ended up not working like that: just fixed spawn points all over the place that regenerate every few seconds like classic Quake mode.

So I just got kicked out of a game and now I can’t join any servers because rumours are that Battlelog servers have been hacked. Anyone know anything about this?
