Your taste? I like non-hardcore, low-tickets (>600), with map rotation. Also like is it usually populated when you want to play, etc.
For me, it’s servers non-hardcore, low (and I mean “normal”) tickets, good ping, with a good amount of people but excluding the 64 players servers, and without instant vehicle spawn.

Why don’t you like the 64 people servers?

Too many people for the size of the maps. After a while, the constant non-stop action makes the game boring, and with so many people it nullifies good movement: lots of times every time you move you are shot from 4 different angles.

I must have a couple of gigs of useless updates on my 360 for this, as every time a new DLC comes out they seem to make me download the whole thing even though I’ve never bought any of them. Can they fix this next gen? It’s a little annoying. Every. Single. Time.

only 1 desert map, thank god!
So, now that I’ve fixed my xbox, I’m thinking of playing this more. Is the Premium mode the most cost effective way to get all the packs?
Yeah, especially if you get it on sale.
That trailer looked great.
I liked the trailer, it was more subdued, like, it isn’t needed anymore to have a trailer full of action and explosions, as every possible buyer knows already how the game is, they can extrapolate how the DLC will play just watching the ‘frozen in time’ parts.
I wonder if they will eventually allow dirt bikes on all existing maps. Well the big maps I mean.
Oh and release dates… Like I need another game in March.
PS3 Premium members: March 5th
X360 and PC Premium members: March 12th
PS3 players: March 19th
X360 and PC players: March 26th
With the installation of End Game, the BF3 install is now 34.2GB. Wow.
So that is where all my SSD space has gone!
Yeah, I’m in the same problem :P
I think I will play one last long sting with the DLC, and then finally will uninstall the game.

Just played a few round on the new maps. CTF is fun but requires a lot more teamwork than the average BF player is used to. I’m also thinking they might need to make the flag drop once you get into a chopper. I already see it being abused by a coordinated clan. As fun as air superiority sounds on paper it gets boring really fast. It will probably be abandoned after a few weeks. The coolest feature is the teh Dropship IFV which makes you feel like a boss everytime you get in it.
I haven’t touched BF3 since after the CQ DLC was released, but last weekend I started dowloading all the DLC since then (I’m on Premium). Played a bit of AK and AM, and while AK was more of the classic BF gameplay I was surprised to enjoy scavenger mode in the AM DLC.
Not sure why. It’s basically a skin for UT (start with a handgun, run around for better guns and cap points). But I did play a lot of UT back in the day and this setup makes you less dependent on level and unlocks (although you pick your gun and perk from your unlocks so that is a factor). But since I’m lev 41 I have a lot of unlocks already, so probably this is more about me enjoying the run and gun playstyle. Maybe I just don’t get BF3… :)
Started download End Game yesterday. Interested in trying Air superiority, but I can see that mode fail if not executed right…

I really like the new maps, except the snow one, which just feels like someone dropped white snow on Firestorm or whatever that’s called.
And now I’ve tried it. Fun if you’re a crap pilot like me, since it gives you a chance to level up jets through other means (capping blimps). And since there are a number of other crap pilots you get a chance to get some kills as well, especially since you’re not allowed to eject.
CTF seems very chaotic to me, but the bikes are fun. And I like that the jackhammer has an achievement now. I love it and will spam it like crazy :)
