So, why isn’t this game purchaseable on the xbox? Very wierd! and its INSANELY overpriced on the PS3 - 600 kroner! Thats 105 dollars for the game…yes, JUST for the game.

Why do you say that? It’s probably come out two years after the release of BF3. Seems reasonable to me. I’m guessing it’s going to be a next-gen launch title.

Yeah, no way is release in a few months. BF3 was EA’s biggest selling title ever. It’s going to get the late November, AAA+ release treatment.

Why would my country’s joining of the Eurozone change the price? That would just change the currency.

Agreed, unveiling plus release in October or early November makes the most sense.

I wonder what they’re going to do differently with BF4? Here are my thoughts.

obviously, the whole Premium thing is huge and will be baked in from the get-go. I care not, this works for me, TAKE MY MONEY PLEASE
new rev of the frostbite engine? some minor enhancements?
same setting, modern warfare, none of this BF2142 or vietnam or WW2 nonsense
perhaps more focus on the whole Close Quarters thing from the beginning as a first class game mode, since that (IMO) worked surprisingly well and hits the awful, milked-out Modern Warfare CODBLOPS 6 franchise right in the nuts

My one hope is that they narrow down the number of gameplay modes. As of the latest expansion there are an absurd number of gameplay modes and it fragments the player base way too much. Just focus on the top 5 please and leave the rest.

Other than that, more of the same is really fine by me. BF3 was and is incredible.

So, I just tried this a bit and man its a mess right now - All servers have special FAST RLZ, FAST RESPWNZ, 10.000 tickets and the like…

That, combined with rampant cheating makes me go to the PS3 for the game I think.

Not really seeing that problem in the US. Specific to Europe? Lots of pretty vanilla servers I’ve been playing on.

But I agree that they need to lock down all the bullshit custom configs and game modes, it’s ridiculous.

God, how I hate the “dynamic-size” servers. If I enter in a specific server with 32 players slot, it’s because I want to play in those conditions, I don’t want the maximum player count increasing up to 64 players!

So, my wonderful GF bought me Battlefield 3 for the PS3 since I was grumbling about it on PC. Unfortunately, there wasn’t a single server that had the vanilla game that I could see so I had to buy the expansion packs. I decided to go all in and become Premium and wow…as someone mentioned earlier there are a LOT of gamemodes now and maps as well.

Honestly, all I’m looking for is a big fight, preferably in open landscapes with lots of things going on, mostly Rush since I tend to dislike the Team Deathmatch types of games. The new Capture the flag was annoying as well.

Can anyone recommend me some maps to play in? Also, what is up with 24 players only??

Sounds like you want to go for the conquest maps, so mainly the original maps and the Karkand expansion. Just set the server filter for conquest, there should be plenty of servers doing conquest only setups. As for only 24 players, yeah that’s the max number of players on console, sad but true.

Ok - thanks, I’ll try that! The other maps, are they mainly other types of gameplay? Sorry to be asking what is probably stupid questions but haven’t played BF3 since it came out, more or less.

You can do conquest on pretty much all of the maps, but if you’re looking for more open maps you’ll want to stick to certain dlc’s. The base maps have Operation Firestorm and Caspian border which are large and open. Karkand has a few which are also pretty large, oh and the Armored Kill maps are all pretty huge, but focus more on vehicle play.

I’ve put way less time into BF3 than I thought I would, so I’m pretty sure I’m just going to skip BF4 at this point.

Razgon, don’t let shellfishguy steer you away from Endgame, Aftermath, and Armored Kill, which have phenomenal maps. Death Valley and the snow mountain map in Armored Kill are particularily good. But all expansions are well worth playing IMO.

Are the maps smaller than on pc since there are less people on the map as well?
