In SP campaign I am stuck on the Comrades mission where you are supposed to prevent a baddie from escaping. He keeps escaping. How does one complete this ridiculous level? aren’t people supposed to beta test the SP gameplay too prior to release?
Is he in a car? If it’s that one you have to move to your new vantage point quite quickly, i.e. as soon as his escape is noticed. If it’s where the bad guy is heading for a helicopter I don’t think there’s any particular trick…
I looked it up in GameFAQs to remember the mission. Near the end of that one, don’t stop to shoot. Just keep running. Some of the enemies are invincible anyway. I think earlier in the mission you have to stop and shoot some guys though.
I just ran into a new server type - It was labeled “Rank up”. Apparently, you’re supposed to run around and cap each other’s points, and not fight, so that you gain maximum points for the round. This seems like…cheating? Stupidity? Not sure.

It’s just gaming, as in “gaming the system.”
As long as man creates systems, other men will game them.
It reminds me of the TF2 farm servers.
And Crysis 2 more recently - Get the flag/Return the flag/Get the flag/Return the flag. That was really annoying with the accompanying sound effects…
It’s interesting - given that there’s obviously a demand for skipping the unlock tree, I’m surprised you can’t just buy that. They should sell a $50 Veteran’s Pack, which has the unlocks as at present and a $60 My Father Bought My Commission Pack which comes with all the stuff on a plate. Perhaps call it something else. Logistic Support Pack. First World Armies Actually Provide The Weapons Pack.

Back to Karkand info
Unlocks carried over to Vanilla BF3
All the weapons that you unlock while playing Back to Karkand expansion pack will be usable when playing Battlefield 3.
Introducing Assignments
WIth Back to Karkand will come a new feature called “Assignments”. These will essentially be objective based tasks you can accept and will gain rewards from it.
Enhanced Destruction
The Destruction will be turned up a new level in Back to karkand.
Maps with BF2 Flag Structure
The levels in Back to Karkand will bring back the traditional Conquest Assault Gameplay. What this means is one team will start off with most of the flags, and the other team will have to capture those. This is the traditional map format we saw in Battlefield 2.
Karkand stats contribute to global stats
Everything you earn in Karkand will be contributed towards your soldier’s global score.
All game modes available
You’ll be able to play all gamemodes on back to Karkand maps. That means Rush on Wake Island, oh lala!

Really…I simply cannot wait to to play this! Mostly for the Karkand map itself - my most played BF2 map I think.
I hope grenade spam is gone! ;)
I never played BF2 but I’m excited. I could use some fresh maps already. I think this will hit right when I’m ready to wind down with the game.
“You have to unlock it”
“Yeah, I’m 38, I unlocked it in a shop with a credit card!”

The guy who designed the checkpoints for the single player campaign on consoles needs to be hurt badly. Game design 101, you don’t design checkpoints before a long non-skippable, non-interactive part right before a major battle. I almost threw my controller out the window last night at the end of “Night Shift”.
I see the Karkand maps are $15 if you didn’t pre-order, which seems like a fair chunk of change.
The first Mass Effect was particularly bad at that, even though you could fast forward through the dialogue. (The battle just after you meet Liara is seared in my head. Over and over with all the talking and talking and talking and over and over again).

I think they’re pricing it the same as the CoD packs, but here you get more weapons, vehicles and 4 maps instead of 5.
Also, Enhanced Destruction :)
And missions! As far as I’m concerned, that’s the most exciting part. I’ve been waiting for someone to rip off Section 8’s mission mechanic (they work great in S8, but nobody plays it, so…)
Damn that brings back memories, I spent a good year of my life fighting on that street in Karkand
