There’s a platoon called [QT3] qt3. I assume somebody here made that? Either way, I’m applying to join.

Yep I have a Logitech wireless mouse & keyboard combo that works well. Nothing fancy.
I think it’s tons better then the beta. Like night and day but there are still some issues here and there.
I’m only an hour or so into the single player and it’s very linear and scripted. The quick time events are almost insulting but it’s a fun little distraction so far.
Make no mistake the game at its heart is multiplayer and as someone who has skipped the Bad Company series this game scratches the BF2 itch that I’ve had forever. I need to find a good server with squad gameplay (& spawn on SL). I hear there’s no voice communication except for friends only which really sucks.

I’ll say this: if you’re playing the game on PC speakers you’re doing it a huge disservice and are at a disadvantage. Get some good headphones or surround speakers.

That’s exactly what I wanted to hear, awesome. I’ll be on tonight!

This game is nuts and absolutely gorgeous. I have now played several matches, but all on the tunnel level. I am going to try to check out some others.

I have added myself to the list and added peeps who have put themselve son the list, doesn’t seem to be a way to put a comment in with the request.
I dunno, not being able to fly the plane was stupid, and I prefer the AC-130 because you get to actually shoot things rather than point at them. The F/A-18 level was a tremendous disappointment to me as a jet fighter fan. People bitch about these modern military shooters being on rails, but that level could actually pass for a stage in a light gun game.
Do you really fly no jets at all in the single player?

But you fly INFINITE jets in the multiplayer!

Well, you fly in a jet, you just don’t fly the jet :-P
Does anyone really care about the single-player campaign in a Battlefield game? As far as I’m concerned, they might as well not even offer one. Waste of resources.
This is the most chaotic BF game ever. Shit blowing up and flying around every step.
It’s also the best sounding game ever. Kudos to that guy.
Sounds like a typical AAA conservative move. They’ve got a way to differentiate themselves from Call of Duties, but they don’t have the balls to go for it. Probably too hard to script.
Like I mentioned before I don’t care about the gameplay aspect, but I’m intrigued by the business side of competing with CoD.
I’m very excited about the sound. BC2 was already a revelation after being away from military shooters for 3 years or so. I bet it’s even better now.

Agreed, especially considering that so much of the marketing (at a $100 million budget (source)) has focused pretty much exclusively on the single player.

His name’s Stefan Strandberg.
He’s this guy.
That reminds me, the NRA’s magazine (lol i know, i know) American Rifleman had a brief article on Andy McNabb, the military consultant for BF3. They also had a picture of some motion capture and talked about the sound capture. I’m sure it’s described in detail elsewhere on the Internet (like the article above). This is the first time I’ve seen a videogame discussed in an NRA magazine though.

When I heard Bad Company 2 for the first time, I thought it could never be topped. Now after playing Battlefield 3 for a while and going back to Bad Company 2, I’m convinced they recently shipped a BC2 patch that nerfed the sound because I simply cannot believe that Battlefield 3 can actually be that much better. It’s fucking incredible.
The majority of Call of Duty players never touch multiplayer and play for the campaign. That’s why there’s been such focus on it.

… really? Source?
If you’re correct, that’s pretty incredible.
