Any tips on how to use the revives better, then? Like I said, I typically see people go down, then respawn within a few seconds.
There’s no chance for someone to go over and revive them.
Well there’s revive-able (which lasts a little longer) and there’s just dead, right? Or am I imagining that?
Kill the killer, then revive the poor sap. It fares better in small, 3-4 man actions rather than big firefights.
I haven’t observed that anyone has time to revive before the person dies and respawns, let alone take the time to kill anyone first.
Yeah, I think respawns are way too fast. In most cases, unless the person died right next to you, the chances that you’ll be able to get over to them and make a successful revive are slim.
Back button on the controller
Wrong. It gets me 100 points!
I got 16 revives last night alone. It’s not that bad.

Is there a way to lengthen the respawn timer? That’s probably a major part in why this feels different from BF2.

It’s not good. I’ve never been a good FPS player, but this was really bad. I’m hoping it is just from being out of practice (haven’t played an FPS in at least six months, probably longer).
Well, I put the basics here:
metro station is a shit map for conquest, that is all…
NOTICE: Origin activation is down at the moment. We are aware of the issue and working on it. Thank you for your patience. See news for more info.
Yay PC games.
The second a console comes up with a controller that I’m capable of using as well as I can use a mouse, I’m fucking gone.

Thanks to the beta, it’s not too bad to me now. Rush on Metro was a very harrowing experience.
It really helps to get all cinematic / realistic about your expectations as to what you can and cannot do. I’ve had memorable scenes where i attach myself to some random group of blues because my green squadmates are all retarded, and have three or four of them poking their head out around a corner alternating shots, while suddenly watching bullets start to impact the wall opposite the corner. Although it often takes more bullets than perhaps it should to bring down an opponent, it’s very difficult to take down decent opponents that have the advantage of position and are aiming at you before you see them. Starting out, assume the worst and creep forward; and unlike Wumpus i’d recommend NOT spawning on your squad until you can tell if they’re retarded or not, in pick up pubbies anyway. Oh, man, how many times have i died to pistols because my idiot squadmate is off on his own surrounded and about to die, and where i spawn literally five feet in front of a bemused enemy Engineer with my back to him?

I see.
Let’s recap what has happened in the last 24hours:
First they shutdown the servers maintenance. Then they release a new server-side patch. Then a new version of Punkbuster for BF3 is released(forcing a lot of people to manually update) and now it seems the Origin Activation server is down. Result: I can’t play a single match without being kicked after 2 minutes.
Reiterating what I said earlier (not sure if it was this thread or the other BF3 thread): I was getting kicked all last night, even after updating my punkbuster, and turning off my windows firewall fixed it. Even though any PB entries in the firewall are clearly marked “allow,” that was the only thing that let me play and not get kicked.

Good things console games never have issues with activation or codes…
Yeah I can’t activate. I’ll go play my last few games of Space Marine since I’ll probably get sucked into this.
What ATI drivers are people using? Rage preview 3?

Did they include a colorblind option in the full release? There wasn’t any in the beta.

Not yet, however it’s one of the very few issues (so far) marked as “under consideration” by DICE on the official “Ideas” forum:

Yeah I don’t know what it was but I was able to fix after following these steps.
When playing as assualt:
-Constantly drop medpacks for everyone.
-Don’t revive if there are still enemies around.
Recon:
Deploy the radiobeacon so your team can spawn on it. Deploy it near flags or behind enemy lines but do it smart. Don’t drop it in the middle of the street. Deploy it in buildings and other sheltered places.
Jets:
-X=flares for when you’re locked on to. Don’t immediately pop them when your hear the siren but wait till they actually fire a missile(siren changes)
-You can’t fire your mini gun and missiles at the same time. Change weapons with F.
-The most effective way to shoot down enemy jets is to shoot and hit them a few times with your minigun. Once they notice they’re being chased they’ll try loose you. Change weapon to missile, lock on and fire. If your missile hits the jet you’ll get a “Vehicle Disabled” message and the jet will slowly degenerate to death.
-Minigun overheats fast. Fire in short bursts unless your certain that the enemy get hit.
-Keep an eye on your Altitude. Once you get near 1000 you will slowly lose control of the aircraft.
-Don’t baserape, seriously.
-Learn to shoot down helicopters with your minigun. Use the map to see which way they’re looking and try to approach them from behind.
-Light transport vehicles like Humvee’s and Transport helicopters make easy target.
