Activation works now. Just played a couple team deathmatch rounds. Feels, looks, and sounds great. I think I’ll very satisfied with this.
Bloody hell - the SP campaign is complete bobbins.
SP was underwhelming to the extreme. Only two good levels (Playing as a certain nation’s crack spec ops troop), and that’s about it. Vehicle sections underwhelming.
However, the Multiplayer is so good, I don’t really honestly care. The Vehicle combat is great (Except air combat, but I bet that’s mostly because of my low level in it’s unlocks), the infantry warfare is great, and the game is just fun; normally I get pissed when my K/D is awful, but right now I"m rocking negative and I don’t care; I’m having fun almost every single match, and it’s only getting better with the new toys that unlock (oh so slowly).

My mind is blown by how fucking bullshit flashlights are.
They were actually toned down from beta I believe.
But they are still fucking bright.
A note regarding the mobile spawn point beacons. You spawn on them facing the way the person who placed the beacon was facing.
Which means if the beacon placer was staring at a wall/corner when they dropped it, anyone spawning there will be facing the wall/corner… and much more likely to be shot in the back.
I STILL CAN’T GET INTO FUCKING BATTLELOG
FUCKING SHITS
The last two times I spawned on someone’s beacon I started about 500 feet up and parachuted slowly to Earth. sigh
Also, is there any way to detect AT mines before they kill you?
I saw a guy take a out a tank solo, he ran up behind it and tossed 2 AT mines at the rear, then tossed a grenade at the mines, it pretty much 1 shotted a full health tank.
Saw this on the Peak map a lot. Spawned in and was surprised to be parachuting.
As far as AT mines go, you can see them on the ground if you are watching carefully (and not going too fast). Also where having a squadmate gunning for you can help, extra set of eyes to watch.
The proximity sensors might work that way as well, not sure as I haven’t unlocked those yet.
I dunno. I don’t get the hate for the flashlight. Just play around with some of the high-end LED lights out there. 4Sevens has a bunch of them. I shine it in my eyes for a split second it’s really like staring into the sun. I “see” the imprint of the light for minutes afterward. And I’m literally talking about a split second of staring into it. And this is a relatively mid-range flashlight. The military has higher-end, more expensive stuff that shines a lot brighter.
First, since when Battlefield has limited itself to realism? Never
Second, that LED light have the same effect when you point not to the eyes but to your general direction? And in the middle of a bright noon?
I just tested it. Quark AA Tactical light, and it’s pretty goddamn blinding if it’s shining at my face. The beam is pretty intense; I need to turn my head to avoid damaging my eyes.
I’ve shined the light in my eyes in daylight, and, yes, it’s that intense.
You can try it, too. It’s an $80 flashlight for a reason. 4sevens.com.

Then you haven’t played with me. Whenever I play assault I get multiple “Medical Efficiency” ribbons.
The trick to playing a support role is to pick the right class for the map. The Defib is perfect for close range meat grinder maps like the Metro tunnels, because there are dead bodies everywhere. The repair tool is obviously better on vehicle heavy maps. The ammo box is best when your team is dominating the map, because few of your team will be dying and so everyone will be running low on ammo.
I agree the respawns are too fast though. It makes medics useless on the larger maps.
EDIT: Thanks for the newbie tips everyone, keep them coming. The only reason I know alot about playing the support role is because I suck at straight up combat.

singleplayer benchmarks
Warning: multiplayer perf WILL BE LOWER than this. Guaranteed. Absolutely. But it’s a good baseline.
I have 40+ fps in single player and in some moments/maps of multiplayer my framerate falls to 21!!

I’m going to test it anyway in ~7 hours, when I’ll be back home from work, but still: what’s the deal with coop mode? How does it work, is that something completely different from the campaign ? Do the coop unlocks work in multiplayer too?
Coop is 6 short levels for 2 players. They have to be unlocked in an specific oder, to play the third coop mission you have to finish the previous two.
Some parts of the levels are lifted from levels of the campaign or multiplayer maps, but mostly the experience is new and different.
The weapon unlocks won playing the coop are to be used in the normal (i.e. PVP) multiplayer, not in the coop itself.
One little advice: there are QTEs in the last mission, and if you fail the mission is over.
