DrDel is that you in the chatlog? Whoever it was comes across as a petulant child. If your cdkey doesnt work, you return it to the retailer. That’s the way it always works, at least over here. Likewise, your contract is with the retailer, not the publisher.

DrDel, you don’t put the Karkand code in on Origin for the Xbox version. you have to use the ‘redeem a code’ feature from your xbox. Mine worked just fine when I entered it and I have the download token for Karkand when it releases.

Now, on a side note, I’m a little disappointed in EA, as I didn’t see anywhere before release day that Karkand wouldn’t be available on release.

Wait a minute. This makes no sense. EA/Origin/publisher/whoever prints out an invalid code and I need to wait in line at Best Buy taking the time out of my day to fix the problem they created?

Pre-Steam Valve would accept a Half-Life CD KEY photo and replace it with a new key on the spot with a fricking apology! No wild goose chasing and less inconvenience for the customer.

EA advertised extra content with the pre-order and they failed to come through with it.

My Karkland code was damaged, i took it back to the store, they gave me a new one, and a even a few on the sly for my friends. Not fucking hard really, especially as Karland wont be out for months, im sure you can toddle off to the store in that time.

The unbelievable ridiculousness of gaming company’s mindsets who release unfinished products and then expect customers to resolve their errors is truly “mindblowing”.

If you make a mistake you apologize for the mistake and rectify the problem. That’s what successful companies do. That is what Valve does.

Yeah, I figured I would play through the campaign once just for kicks and to get used to the feel of the game before jumping into multiplayer. I started out that way, and then after the first mission I said OK WHATEVER and went to find a conquest server. I haven’t gone back since.

Codes in boxes have always been the responsibility of the stores as long as i can remember. Normally they even put them in the boxes for us!
The DLC that code isfor doesn’t release for months and you make a tit of yourself rather then just return to store to get a new one.
Your game works fine. The only “Mindblowing” thing here is your attitude.

Personally, I think the old BF shtick of having single-player = multiplayer maps with bots was superior to this crappy story campaign stuff. I mean, yeah–the bots sucked. But with bot maps, you at least had the means of checking out the map geography in a relatively safe setting, and could tweak and test your video settings without being deadweight in an online match. The story campaign is pretty much a downgrade from the (limited) utility of the bot maps, IMHO.

I totally agree Ben. I thought the bot matches were actually pretty fun, and it gave you a chance to get used to the vehicle. I put dozens of hours into Battlefield: Vietnam bot matches.
