Pretty much. I ended up on an almost deserted Caspian server where we just played in jets and helicopters. Using heat seekers against someone without flares was too easy. I ended up flying in straight lines so he could shoot me down a few times just to help him get flares.
My biggest XP boost occurred when i played an engineer. I planted a few mines and was shot. I then saw an empty plane and spawned in it. 3 seconds after takeoff a jeep with a few enemies ran over my mines and gave me a couple of hundred jet XP.
My biggest tip (from the youtube jet tutorial) for jet combat is to use the 3rd person view to fly until you see your target. The extra FoV really helps. Stupid lack of padlock.

It’s in the multiplayer thread! All your questions will be answered there. This thread is for whether your mind is blown or not.

Damavand conquest regular (3 objective) is crap. Damavand conquest large (5 objective) is crazy but awesome.

New tip: Find a squadmate who’s got a very high rank, AND FOLLOW HIM EVERYWHERE. If you’re Rank 5 and that dude is, like Rank 28, he knows what the hell he’s doing.

And if he doesn’t, he’ll probably get shot before you do :)

Battlefield games have always been weird in that in one battle you can be a god of war, destroying everyone around you, and in the next battle, you die every 2 seconds, and feel like screaming, gaining a 1-50 KD ratio.

Its of course because the ebb and flow of the battle is based upon the human participants, not following any set of rules, especially in the conquest scenarios.

So yeah, its hard to know exactly what to do, but the only thing that will help is practice and knowledge of the maps ,and a healthy dose of luck.

Conquest make me think. How I can help my team win this round? How can I counter-act the stuff the enemy team is going to thrown at us.

Sometimes I have a blurry idea. Is a vehicle map, but we can do withouth air superiority, so I will mine the battlefield and destroy vehicles with jabelin.
Or maybe is a infantry map, I am going to run away from the populated areas, and try to take over “abandoned” areas. Or…

But then the battle star, and not plan survive the contact of the battle. So I remade plans on the spot, and (sorry) flow with the battle. Maybe the battle want me to protect one flag, with one very good squadmate, or the battle want me to stay in a AA tank the whole game, or maybe the game want me to walk to a hill near the enemy base in Operation Firestorm, and snipe tanks with the jabelin. I read the battle, and the battle tell me what to do.

And is weird, because I can do amazing, and still lose. I can flow alone, and It will not work, but wen everyone “connects”, the team is unstopable.

Came to the same conclusion last night. I love the 5 objective one.

They need to fix auto balance ASAP , a few of my rounds yesterday were so horrible.

At one point people were defecting from the American team so fast, I think we were down by 8 people.

And I guess auto balance finally kicked in , and moved over a whole pile of level 1’s to my team. My friend and I left before the end of the round, it was so lopsided.

Those with SSDs/fast computers are able to swap team before the rest of the players have loaded, every match. Had a rank 40 guy who constantly changed to the defending team, as they had the upper hand in terms of the Rush map, to get the most points.

Really hope they fix the UI issues soon, as well as the damn server crashes, lags and disconnects.

Also wouldn’t mind them fixing the 30 second timer between ROUNDS, 30 second AFTER a match, and 30 seconds after a new map has loaded before it begins.

On some of the 64-player rush maps, with a stupidly low 75 ticket count, you almost spend more time counting down for the map/loading than you spend playing.

Trying to pilot anything when the server is lagging is horrible as well, since it seems that your plane crashes into the 100ms behind/in front of you plane in the air constantly, so the cockpit is always shaking, and you lose thrust.

I wish there was some convenient way to High Five someone who spotted an enemy for you. Spotting is totally awesome. If one team is spotting and the other isn’t, then the spotting team is winning even if the non-spottng team is full of great headshot hunters.

Heres my tip of the day, probably old news for veterans. Instead of running behind your squad mate, run beside him (keep an eye on your relative positions on the mini map). Stay far enough away that you are behind different cover, passing on opposite sides of small buildings, on opposite sides of the street etc.

This has 2 immediate effects. 1) You get a nice crossfire on any single enemy you encounter. 2) If one of you runs into opposition and engages in a firefight, the other one will naturally wrap around the side and flank the opponent. Half the time you be able to completely blindside your enemy while he is looking at your squad mate.

Best of all this tactic doesn’t require sophisticated tactics. Just 2 squaddies who agree to move parallel but apart from each other.

Woohoo. I came in third place!

+1. On Khark Island last night I was Davey Crockett with an M1 Tank. Someone was spotting the US infantry hidden up on those rocks up high, and I was sniping them with a 120mm tank cannon. Those idiots had no idea what was going on. One second they were alive, the next, they were told they were killed by an M1 round. It wasn’t long before they were screaming AIMBOT and saying I was a dirty cheater.

Free skins/dogtags from Dr. Pepper for those who are into that sort of thing.

If I knife someone with a Dr. Pepper dogtag, can I put it back?
