We don’t know when it’s going to be announced, much less know when it’s going to come out.
The new browser has marginally better options and is much faster for me… but it shows a big list of empty servers…? They’ve swapped the Not Empty flag to Empty, but whichever I choose 99% are 0/32. Surely somebody is playing the game somewhere…?
You can search by region and hardcore mode now. It does seem much faster, and pings were visible.

Could be, but it may have also been simply because they could easily reuse BF1943 assets. But I too would welcome a proper BF game set in WW2.

They broke something because the game now lags like hell.
It’s graphic lag maybe related to connection issues. I have lots of heavy stutters and even on every respawn I get some massive lag.
This happens no matter of the server I pick and never happened before this patch.
Some of the balance changes on weapons
APRIL 21: Update R7 and R10 have changed the weapons as such:|
M60 Damage decreased by one bullet’s worth from its 25-20. (20 - 16.7)
1911 has had its maximum Rate of Fire decreased to 260 RPM… and an unusual damage change (it basically doesn’t change anything though). I’ll get to that later.
M1 Garand has gotten a tiny damage increase. Long range damage increased to 28 and range increased to 64.
LMGs have gotten all kinds of accuracy changes. They gain more spread per shot BUT they recover faster when sighted. In most cases, they look like they’re going to be MORE accurate.
Okay, there’s quite a lot of little changes. Expect a full update by tonight.

actually was in a few matches a few hours ago (with new patch), still was gaming the gustav rocket launcher like i was a quake player!

Reduced the lethal blast range of the 40mm grenade and M2CG to highlight their role as a secondary weapon against infantry.

personally I think they should just lower the number of rockets you can carry or lower the run speed of CG users.
but i’m not complaining … I love the CG!

Hooray. Message from Dice. It will take another month to fix the lag introduced by this new patch since it’s a client bug:
We are looking into the spawn lag as well but that might not be fixable by a server update.
The wonders of modern game development. Almost a month delay for a single patch because of QA, and then they aren’t able to catch the most obvious issues. It took me 3 seconds to notice this the very first time I spawned.
It’s supposed to be a revisit of the modern setting in BF2 IIRC.
Regarding the balance changes, they tweaked the garand up and left the M14 alone? facepalm

Wow, AN94 buff. It’s party time!
On one hand, I’m glad there’s a compelling bullet-firing option for the assault class. On the other, it may become the new Rambo.
it is kinda odd that they felt the need to improve the AN-94. It was already my number 2 choice and quite strong. It was my second platinum.
The AN was already my favorite gun. Whee!
I’ve been playing a bit today, and I think the Gustav situation is much improved. Still getting slaughtered by 40mms, though, but I never thought they were bad to begin with.
I approve of the AN-94 buff, since its my AR of choice.
Played a couple rounds at lunch and seemed to get killed by the M60 noticeably less. Interestingly, there seemed to be way fewer medics on both teams though… (of course it could have just been a coincidence)
Were there many changes not related to server browser and balance issues? It seemed like my framerate was a lot smoother. Also, I couldn’t tell, but did they fix the “not earning points when dead” issue?
Overall, from my 45 minutes of playing, this patch seems to be a definite improvement.

A lot of the “medics” were M60 whores who wouldn’t know a medpack or defibrillator from an Abrams tank. Good riddance.
This is one of the few patches, for any game, that I pretty much agree on every balance change they made… minus the AN-94, maybe. Not that I thought it was overpowered, but do you think they meant decreased instead of increased? IIRC (and I very well could be wrong), I thought it was already the highest damaging AR out there, albeit firing in 2-round bursts. I thought the gun fit quite well for skilled, accurate players as a well-placed shot was lethal whereas it was ineffective for spray-and-pray.
Although… maybe with the increased accuracy of ARs, the AN-94 needed a boost to compensate. Either way, I’m eager to go check the changes out!
