In my experience the laggy / non-hitting stuff is very server dependent. I’ve had mostly perfect(ish) games, but I’ll occasionally happen on a server where I know I had someone in my crosshairs for multiple shots and show no hits at all.
IMO if you’re seeing this a lot – switch servers.
Start. Login to EA. Login again, as soldier. Choose North America again. Choose Rush again. Search. Choose a server. Be told server is full. Choose different server. Join. Choose Medic No spawn lag! Woohoo!
It could be smoother (PC).

A two man army with limited ammo. You could have one be a medic and one be assault and get the best of both worlds: heal packs and ammo packs. If the medic dies, the assault picks up his kit and revives him. When the medic is revived he has the assault kit. Rinse and repeat.
Had my first few hours of gaming post patch. My impression is that they did everything right except the AN-94 and M16. The M16 has been destroyed, it’s almost an SMG now - low damage, high accuracy and RPM. Sad :’( The AN-94 is being used a lot but I can’t tell if it’s overpowered or people just think it is.

Yeah, it might just be a case of the game server provider running too many gameservers on the same box.

I don’t know off the top of my head who all the Qt3 game names match up with the names here on the forums, but I was playing on the LAN with my friends in our llama clan =^.^= and just by random chance ended up on a server with several Qt3 players. One of which got my dog tags :( Was good times, I really do like the balance of weapons post patch.
So, my initial impressions of the patch:
-The rambo seems . . . about as good as it used to be. I typically use it like a 100-shot semi-auto rifle, and I was picking off snipers in Arica with it. There is supposedly that one-bullet lethality difference, but I just tap another time. The moving accuracy LMG tweak might make it less good for firing on the move while assaulting, which might help with balance.
-Is it just me, or are most of the assault rifles more accurate? It seems like the hip-fire crosshairs are a bit narrower now. There’s also the range modification; I seem to be getting killed more often with bullets from a distance, which is good.
-The AN-94 is pretty crazy, though I was quite good with it before the patch too.
-I can tell that the CG was tweaked, though I’m not sure whether it is necessarily balanced. It still seems pretty good to me. Haven’t done much with the 40mm gl, but it still seems popular.
-The M14 seems to suck noticeably less. I’d swear that they reduced the recoil when using the sights, more in line with the M60s single-shot recoil. Inability to mount optics is still lame, but I’ll take a decent gun over a bad one with optics. Long range might be a possibility with the AR range tweaks, but with my CQB mouse sensitivity and how BC2 handles it I don’t get the precision to aim with iron sights at long distances.
-The 1911 is noticeably reduced in rate of fire. It’s still crazy accurate and does good damage though. This might be a good way to have it, since it’s no longer superior to a lot of primaries but still arguably the best sidearm.
-I also like the tracer pistol changes, but mostly because I hate enemy vehicles.

I think against ground vehicles, this is a welcome change. However, for helicopters, it really makes them worthless because they only take one shot to take down after darted. If you’re in a helo and get darted, you really need to bail immediately otherwise you’re a KDR statistic.
In the end, I think Dart’s got too much of a buff.

The pilot can use smoke spec, not sure how good that works though.

One RPG should take out a heli, they’re pretty damn hard to hit if the pilot isn’t an idiot. What I don’t like is how they’re made out of tissue paper for machinegun fire.

I think the accuracy of the gun was increased over medium ranges, less spray. It seems I get killed more from medium range by AN94s than in close range. I think MORE assault rifles should be like this… considering how much they nerfed the nade. The nade nearly requires a direct hit for a kill now.

What machinegun fire? mounted guns should tear them up… that’s their only purpose.
Well, there are a few maps where mounted MG’s can be fairly devastating to infantry if they’re used right and the wielder as enough counter sniping going on to keep him alive.
Once on the last defense point on Isla Inocentes I got about 10 kills before anybody even noticed that an MG was tearing apart the line as they came up the hill. I also like to use the MG in the house on that one Rush map thats all snowy, but takes place in daylight. After you destroy the first 2 M-Coms that thing is totally nifty for cleaning up the straggles in what is now your base.
I was darted in a Heli a couple of times today, never had any problems dodging incoming rockets. It’s tricky, sure, but you definitely shouldn’t just bail from the chopper IMO. I’m talking about apaches and hinds though, I don’t know about the more sluggish choppers that are equipped with the mini-guns.

I would like to mention that your name brings back horrific memories of playing Day of Defeat via dial up.

Those MGs with armor plates basically make you invulnerable. Until someone hits you with an RPG or mortar strike, you’re not moving.
Well, unless some sneaky bastard makes it to the MCOM without anyone noticing, but then you’ve got other problems.
Oh god… The horror. I had forgotten all about that, man was that terrible.
Carl Gustav makes shutting off mounted MG’s trivial. I often wonder why it takes so long for people to realize how to deal with one MG.

You got me man. When I see someone in a MG it’s a free 180 points waiting to be shot (+50 kill +30 vehicle damage +100 destroy vehicle). I LOVE when the opposing team gets in those.
