Battlestar Galactica 21 - Blackjack in Casino Royale

I’ve lost track of this game on day 79. Has the 2nd Cylon been discovered yet?

Unless the God Admiral is super super slow playing it, I think it’s pretty clear that the second card is awaiting the sleeper phase.

Come back on day 158. According to Elosha’s discarded notes, that’s when we’re due for our next jump prep.

I still wonder how we are managing to run out of fuel WITHOUT JUMPING!

The secret is that we’re not jumping, so we’re not running out of fuel. We’re heading to Earth via peddle power.

It was a small thing, a way to lift the spirits. And simply put their slow journey left time to fill. So it was that when President Agathon stumbled across an old flyer for a prize fight while cleaning out the Presidential desk, he was of two thoughts.

The first, and obvious one, who would have pictured that drugged out mystic as a lover of violent entertainments.

Well other than the murderous robot part of her.

The second was that this seemed a good idea. A way to burn some nervous energy and create an outlet for the ever present illicit gambling every military regiment officially discourages but unofficially never seems to enforce.

So the hangar decks were cleared, the ECO pods on the freshly rebuilt frame of the Assault Raptor adjusted for spotlight utility. A hasty construction made using leftover munitions crates and canvas for uniform tailoring made their ring. And into it were sent the two bright stars of the fleet, the protectors of the innocent, ready to beat eachothers brains in for 9 rounds, or whenever Anders decided to tap out.

They had stopped taking bets for Starbuck after 20 minutes, despite the low payout 4-1 odds gave. Not because of physical strength, but because they knew she would still find a way to throw a punch even if you broke both her arms. They respected their CAG, but were all a bit scared of her.

Main lights dimmed, spotlights on, main event came after a few warm up matches. Saul Tigh versus Galen Tyrol was a crowd favorite. Mainly because the hangar deck crew were all cheering for Tigh, while all the command staff for Chief. Everyone else was rooting for mutual TKO.

But the main event was the Prickly Princess versus Triangle Titan. The best shot versus the long shot. The hard partier versus… ok well they both were.

And it did not disappoint. Despite the long odds, Anders hung in there with Starbuck. He landed a few good blows, but mostly managed to not get his bell rung, which was better than most anticipated.

He still lost, but made a good fight of it. And just as the judges decision was made, there was a popping noise from the raptor as the lights sputtered and there was a large pop and explosion. The crowd went wild, thinking pyrotechnics had been prepared. Everyone went home happy.

Once the crowd cleared, the deck crew began looking for an answer. They had planned nothing of the sort, and in short order the truth was revealed. Turns out their Raptor repair had been flawed, and the celebration had shook the ECO pod lose, causing it to fall into the missile pods, shorting them out and sending a rocket into the cabin.

Starbuck was gonna be pissed, fortunately the doc still was patching her up from the fight so they had some time.

Total +21, pass. @rho21 you can activate Dogfight. There are 2DC cards, so Raiders are being placed. The pass will happen, so morale +1. However you can do the Dogfight thing, which you had already indicated you would damage the Assault Raptor to activate. And since a skill card ability was played, you may also choose one person to put in sickbay.

My poor star-crossed raptor. Numb the pain, doc.

Yep, Starbuck to sickbay. Assault Raptor damaged (does that destroy it, or does that only apply to damage in space?); removed card irrelevant. Enjoy your morale, humanity, seems you were destined to get it.

@soondifferent
@CraigM

I’ll take a leadership @CraigM

That’s great, Craig!

That’s a great write-up indeed.
Didn’t think we had the cards but good work!

Unfortunate he got the 0D, but could have been worse

Hopefully @soondifferent can find his way to get an XO for me to find that AOBF.
Still have that centurion to take care of.

Assault Raptors are binary. Destroyed and not destroyed.

A bit like…CYLONS!

@soondifferent

Oh man, the raiders would go to town on all those ripe civvy ships. Pop! Pop! Pop!

I can do stuff if we want to get rid of the civvies. And by “get rid of the civvies” I mean escort them, not blow them up @rho21.

Clearly we have more important stuff to do right now like blowing up that centurion.
Also have some other really good quorum stuff to play.

Oh yes, that too.

Damn, no luck on the leadership draw. Probably more efficient for me to get airborne for CAG rather than taking a single potshot at the heavy or something. I’ll launch into 4, CAG a viper into 3, and escort the civvie in 4. @CraigM

Very well, one less civvie on the board.
