Battlestar Galactica 26: Winning the Marathon

0 cards

@CraigM

A brief respite, then the return to arms. Ever since the solar disturbance had allowed the Cylon fleet to get in close and launch an assault, things had been touchy. The human fleet had tried to reduce their exposure, to some success. They had managed to thin out their attackers some, and get some civilians to safety. But the glaring vulnerabilities of their position were exemplified by the Centurions now on board Galactica, with another wave making approach.

And still more attacks came. Probing for weaknesses, and finding new avenues to exploit. The Long Autumn, during its escort, was drawn into a trap and left exposed by another flanking Raider patrol.

The people, sensing all was not well, began to turn on each other, blaming their leaders for allowing their former Admiral to leave them so weak.

+5, fail. -2 morale. Bait places another civilian ship behind Galactica. DC places two raiders in front

Raiders activate. Let’s cut to the chase. @Lantz you get to chose order. Sector 6 is the important one. If you activate sector 5 first, it goes into sector 1. If you activate 6 first, it goes to 5. All other moves are inevitable.

@CraigM 6 first

This is bleak

Ok, we’ll do this as efficiently as possible then.

6moves to 5.

5 fires, one civvie down. -1 pop
one moves to 4

Raiders in 2 activate.

Raider 1 of 6 rolls… 7

Any pilots intervene @Lantz @Navaronegun

Sure, what do I have to do?

Play an Evasive Maneuvers card, or a Calculate card.

Play 1EM

Raider 1 reroll 5(–2) miss
Raider 2 6
Raider 3 4
Raider 4 4
Raider 5 1
Raider 6 6

And the CAG stays in the air.

Thanks!

No Problem!

@rho21 you have the unenviable position of staring into the abyss

Hmm, we’re not doing so well at these skill checks recently. And everything just seems to be a bit inconvenient to accomplish with our particular skill sets.

Speaking of which, I could really do with drawing some engineering cards and looking for a repair. But it’s perhaps more urgent to get shooting at centurions, given there are doubtless about to be 4 on the ship.

Thoughts?

Got to start on the Centurions. They are going to be activating them full speed.

Yeah, you have to be right. I’m going to need an XO or two to get through all of them though.

@CraigM: I’ll head over to the armoury and see if I can serve an injunction on one of those centurions. Can anyone manage any strategic planning?

I’m unable to assist with the shot :(

I can’t help you.

On the upside, you may still be vindicated on the morale discussion!

Well, let’s shoot anyway, @CraigM.

You tried, but like those before you, the first shot is a little wide.

Roll 5.

@Navaronegun?

OK, Gentlemen, do I see a bunch of raiders and Basestars on the Galactica map? I mean, its no mirage, right?

I can damage the Cylon Fleet from here, with a trick up my sleeve. Should I stay put and draw an extra Quorum Card, or go elsewhere.
