There’s Arpeggio of Blue Steel, and High School Fleet, both of which have ships in World of Warships. The whole Japanese thing with high school girls and WWII weapon systems is…odd, to say the least. Interesting, but…odd.
There are a couple of animes where the girls are ships. One they actually can look like the ship the other they look like girls with armaments on them.
Kantai Collection is where they look like girls with little backpacks that are the weapons (WW2 IIRC). They sort of skate on the water and fight the enemy. I watched this with my daughter who thought it was cute. It certainly was different. I can not remember the name of the other anime but I do remember that the main heroine was a submarine.
Now back to Battletech:
Does anyone know or have any suggestions on what Mechs to match with what MechPilot powers? I am hoping someone has a good website to read on this. I think I would do a bit better if I could match that up better. I was concentrating on Pilot & Gunnery and made a couple with teh Senor lock etc. But what about other combos?
Kantai Collection, (Kancolle), is the big one. If Wargaming can get that into World of Warships they’ll be printing money.
Here’s the Bismarck theme tune.
The part about God’s providence for fools and the United States is in verse two.
If you prefer to date tanks, that’s already on Steam.
I regret taking so many move after firing and wish I’d taken more bulkwards.
The JSON edits makes a TON of difference! I changed the values to 1/4 of the original values and the battles play out a lot more smoothly imo.
The game feels much smoother even without the debug mode. I’ve also opt into the BETA branch for their patch testing (your JSON edits are unaffected) and things seems to have improved.
I’ll test more over the next few days.
Yeah, base defenses are sometimes just unfair. I have good luck always taking an LRM fire support mech and keeping it square in the middle of the base. That way I generally can spot reinforcements coming and engaged them.
The nice thing about base defenses is that any enemy you attack switches from targeting buildings to targeting you. So spread around the love. Multi-shot is your friend. The bad thing about base defense missions is the additional enemy waves spawning in the worst place. That’s when save scumming is more you friend than even multi-shot!

BATTLETECH Post-Launch Roadmap
- Compatibility / Performance Investigations
Our launch last week wasn’t perfect. A subset of players are experiencing hardware/system compatibility and performance issues that our team is working hard to investigate. Solutions for critical issues are always our top priority, and will be released as soon as they’re available and tested. Typically, we will release patches to our public_beta branch on Steam for a few days for testing before we push them to the default branch.
On that note - last Friday we released our first patch to the public_beta branch for testing. Today, that 1.0.1 Patch went live - you can read the full changelog here. We expect to release more patches to public_beta in the coming days and weeks.
-
General BugFix (Late May)
We expect to release at least one general bugfix/improvements patch later in May.
-
Localization (French, German, Russian) and Linux Support
These are both Kickstarter commitments and high priorities for our post-launch roadmap. (Along with a couple other Kickstarter commitments that didn’t make it in for launch.) We don’t have a more precise ETA yet for these items but will update you as soon as we do.

Update #1: Customization & Player Options (June/July)
We’re already beginning work on our first larger free Update to BATTLETECH. This Update is all about customization and reacting to common pieces of feedback that we’ve received from you on the game. Here’s a list of items we’re currently looking at for Update 1 this summer
–Accelerated Combat Options - We’re working on options for players who would like to accelerate the pace of combat missions.
–MechWarrior Customization - We know that many players would like to change the appearance, callsign, name, and voice of all their MechWarriors, not just their Commander. This didn’t make it in for launch but we’ll be adding it in Update 1
–Granular difficulty settings - A set of discrete options for players to customize the challenge level of the game in different areas.
–MechLab / Store / Salvage Quality-of-Life Improvements - Interface additions to reduce friction when buying and salvaging new items.
–Tutorial-skip Option - Allowing players who have already played the prologue missions to skip those missions when starting a new campaign, and get right to the Leopard.
–Addressing Difficulty Spikes - We’ll be working on smoothing out some issues with unexpectedly hard (or easy) content. Not to remove all difficulty variance, but to address clear outliers.
–Live-streaming Quality-of-Life Improvements - Audio persisting when alt-tabbed, for example.
It’s important to note that the exact contents of Update 1 may shift during development. Please consider these general directions and priorities. We’ll post a more detailed and updated list of what’s in the Update closer to its release.
- More BATTLETECH!!
The above is just the beginning! We’ll be continuing with more free Updates after Update 1, and we’d also love to release a larger paid content Expansion or two - but right now we’re staying focused on bugfixes and immediate reactions to launch feedback.
I meant to reply to @Thrag but somehow it replied to @cicobuff.

Man, there’s so much meat on this game.
Someone finally updated the Spreadsheet:
The 4 Star League era mechs? Apparently they have endosteel because they have a bit more available tonnage than their non-StarLeague counterparts. I mean I knew Highlander-HGN-732B I got from that story mission was somehow more effective than the Highlander HGN-733 I picked up elsewhere and it wasn’t just the double heat sinks which I’d spread out among other mechs anyway. It was the extra 5.5 tons of weapons/armor/heatsinks.etc
Also, the Star League Atlas has a whopping 13 extra tons of space than the other Atlas! I stopped playing after finishing the main story line so I’m not even sure, but is that the one you get gifted at the very end? I think I’m going to try to mod this sucker to my satisfaction and give it another go before Pillars 2 gets released next week as I just finished my Xcom2 playthrough.
This game never left my thoughts. I’ve been following on here and reddit and paradox seeing what people are coming up with.

I can not over sell the use of LRMs on every mech enough. Sensor lock and blasting an enemy mech from a distance is so damn good. Sometimes the AI just can’t figure out which way to go. Nothing is as satisfying as watching an enemy walking back and forth, trying to figure out which way to go, while you rain down destruction upon its head.
My glitch runs a vindicator with a PPC+ and a LRM10. She can core light mechs in one shot. Myself and Medusa run up in shadowhawks making sure of LoS and punching things while behemoth flanks around and blasts things from her centurion. Not really happy with that one, too little firepower. The AC10 and large laser don’t work for me.
heh, bulkward, squidwards older brother.
I’ve grown to love my Shadowhawk;
1 medium laser+
1 LRM20++ w/2 tons of ammo
1 SRM2++
1 SRM4 (sharing one ton with the SRM2++).
Thing’s a beast.

My current favorite mech is a hunchback where I removed the small laser and a heat sink to make room for jump jets. Jumping behind an enemy to deliver an AC/20 to the back is much fun.
My Glitch did that too, until she met her first LRM carrier last night.
My favorite is the Highlander with a Gauss Cannon, followed by the Grasshopper. I tried making a melee focused Dragon but that just didn’t work out. Can never get to the enemy fast enough to use my installed super arms and legs.
So I went to submit a bug report and YIKES! There are 10 PAGES of bug reports per day lately.
you can read that two ways:
either the game is incredibly broken, fubar to the max or…
there are so many people playing it on such diverse systems, every possible little defect is being found and reported a hundred times over.
fwiw on my system the game runs fine, looks fine and plays fine. im happy as a hog in the muck with it.
my four medium mech lance is tearing em up and my bank roll is steadily growing. nearing 10 million atm
