Soviet 24x6 SRM Carriers:

If the Russians could get that to work they would.
Remember that time they put 88 PPSH submachine guns in the bottom of a light bomber to make a ground attack plane?

I just realized that even though I keep deleting saves from the folder on my machine, steam keeps putting them back and turning my performance to crap.
I love this game, but whoever said “we don’t need a normal save screen like every other game ever, let’s just have the save button and quicksave create a new save every time” should be fired, tarred and feathered.
Does deleting save games from the in-game interface not work? (edit: talking about load game screen)
Thrag is likely encountering the cloud save system re-syncing them. Deleting them in-game should work. I’ve heard that deleting them from outside the game while the game while the game is running also works, but that sounds like a recipe for shenanigans.

At first it seemed deleting them while in game worked around the cloud sync putting them back. I don’t know if something changed but now it keeps putting them back. I had to turn off cloud saves.
I could delete saves in game, one by one, waiting a minute for each, but I don’t have that kind of time.
I turned off cloud saves, then deleted them outside game. however that does nothing to help the late-game performance issues sadly.
HBS developers got back to me. Very nice people. So on the positive side, they are aware of the problem. The not-so-great side is it will take a patch or couple to fix (could be a few months at most?). Quick fix is to sell off most of what you have so the database list is shortened.
For those of you who haven’t run into this yet. It scales linearly with the list length. Someone else who’s collected more than me said he now has a 17 second delay every time he clicks a button to work on his mechs or do stuff in the store.
HBS thought people would immediately sell off most of what they didn’t need including lighter mechs. Which is why I think there aren’t any specific instances of needing light or medium mechs as you progress in the campaign. They figured there was a linear progression people would follow. You get medium mechs, dump the lights, you get assault mechs, dump the heavies etc.

I don’t seem to be having any of these performance issues. I’m using the GOG version; could that be making a difference?
Nope. It’s entirely due to how much you’ve saved and collected. I have all 3 bays filled with mechs and enough 3/3 salvage to make 30 more mechs. And lots of partial mechs, and tons of weapons and equipment etc. As mentioned it scales linearly with how much stuff you have. If I sold all my stuff the performance in the store and mech customization screens would be snappy again. But that goes counter to the way I’ve been playing the whole campaign. I want to collect lots of everything so I can experiment and keep the experience going. Collect as much as I have or Harkonis (or wayyy more as someone else posted on the PDX forum) and you’ll experience the same thing.
When I try to sell my Locust that sits in Mech Bay 2, it does not appear on my sell list. Does that mean each planet will only purchase certain mechs?
it has to be in storage. the downarrow button to store them.
I love the game, but, um, HBS must have been smoking some bad weed if they figured gamers–especially BattleTech junkies–wouldn’t hoard everything and build up a mass of spare parts and optional 'mechs. Really, it boggles the mind that they didn’t think of this.
do u want to see my pokemons??
Mine appears to be patching, is this just them taking the beta and pushing out?

I hope this game makes them a ton of money. Then they can afford to hire a second artist.
