I don’t think it was the Clans, specifically, but having Kerensky going into well-armed, self-imposed exile was a good “adventure hook” by the OG devs.

I think there was a source book with Natasha on the front of it back in the day. Never read or had it, just knew it existed.

I would love to have a Klingon pilot one of my mechs.
Also if you rename your pilot “Dimebag” it will change the in-game music to metal.
Yes, I mangled my metaphors quite thoroughly there…what I was trying to say was that 3025 is real life LosTech, as in “an awesome thing from a bygone golden era, which is no longer being manufactured and can only be found in the posession of a lucky few, or in an undiscovered cache somewhere obscure.”
;)
The Wolf’s Dragoons supplement was titled “Tales of the Black Widow Company”…
The mech bay stacks jobs, so if you assign a couple of refits that take 20 days each, then the 3 days it takes to bring your emergency mech back online is going to take 43 days! At least that’s what seems to be happening. I’m assuming if you bring the mech out first and then assign the refits that you’ll get your mech out first.
Although this is true, you have to consider the time it takes to shuttle from each planet to each jumpship and back, so those trips back to Detroit can be costly!
Also, in my game Detroit is giving me only 2.5 skull contracts right now. I had to fly back to Bellerophon to find any 1 skull contracts. You then have to hope there’s at least another 1-2 contracts at the same location if you want to build up any cash with low-payout contracts, otherwise you don’t make much headway against your monthly costs when factoring in the travel time.
Lol … touché!
Yes, the art was quite horrific. The new looks of the mechs in the game are much much better.

Right below the list of active jobs is a button to reorder them

Something very useful I just confirmed. Breaching shots works with multi target. I had mistakenly assumed to use it I had to do a normal attack on one target.
How does multi target work? When I tag three enemies my mech will all just unload in target A and never get to B. Presumably I am missing something important here.

After designating A, B, C etc. go down to your weapons and cycle through each one until it’s set on a letter for the target.
Good point need to remember the stacking thing and the fact you can change it.
In this case I was so shot up I only had one functional mech, so I was going to be forced to fix at least a couple of them to field something strong enough that it wouldn’t just get put on a mission and get shot up too and just prolong the problem…
Cheers! Never thought of that!

I just imagine Glitch riding around in that with “Legs” blasting on the stereo.

I had to look it up myself at first. Believe it or not, r/battletechgame is a great resource.

So how would an OGRE fair against a Mech? : )

Moving my install directory to my SSD really helped a lot the performance.
If you need more contracts in a system because you’re trying to repair your bank balance somewhere quiet, or you are ignoring the story missions, then you can mod that change in yourself right now.
Go to this directory wherever you installed BT : \BATTLETECH\BattleTech_Data\StreamingAssets\data\simGameConstants
In there look for the file called : SimGameConstants.json
Make a copy of it, so you can roll back to the original if you want to.
Right click that file and [Open With] … [Notepad]
That’ll open an alphabet soup file full of game parameters. Search for : MaxContractsPerSystem
Change the default from 3 to whatever you want. I haven’t played to see how crazy you can get with this number, I just added a couple to it.
You can also search for “MaxBreadcrumbsPerSystem” which are the travel missions. The default there is 2.
Change your numbers, save the file and launch BT.
In that file is also a value that looks like this : “StartingPlayerMech” : “mechdef_blackjack_BJ-1”
I’m sure no one can work out what that’s for, or what would happen if you changed the second part to something like “mechdef_urbanmech_UM-R60” or “mechdef_atlas_AS7-D-HT”

I have to say that I did fairly well against a couple of two skull missions. The problem is recovery time and the amount of cash to fix everything. I do think that the money earned should be higher than it currently is.
I did see a mod on Nexus to increase the payouts if anyone is interested.
